Does anyone else think Lockipicking should have been like Fa

I was recently replaying Fallout 3 and remembered that you had to be a certain level to pick certain locks. Does anyone else think SKyrim could have benefited from this or not? I don't like the idea that everyone can lock pick.

Hell with that, I want Oblivion's lockpicking back.

While we're at it, Oblivion's Open spells, and Daggerfall's bashing option.

Good loot is in locked chest. Having to have perks in lockpicking to get it would svck. Unless they made less things locked. Fallout you can loot a lot of good stuff because there werent many locked things. At least it didnt feel like you were missing out. And you could do science.

Oblivion's lock picking just inspired be to go get the skeleton key as fast as I could.

It should be more level based than it is though.. and it should not have a whole perk tree to itself.

I'll pass on that, thanks.

After several runs through the game I've installed the Lock Overhaul and Lockpick Graduation mods.

Will be trying Lockpicking Overhaul, which allows options like lock bashing, lock melting and an open spell, after 1.9 is finalized.

What makes every character good at Lockpicking is that lockpicks are too cheap and easy to come by. When you've got 200 lockpicks when you're level 10, why wouldn't you try to open every lock you come across? (Even though the loot svcks). There's no penalty to burning through 20 picks trying to open a Master lock when your Lockpicking skill is 15.
