I use carriages, and i count it as fast travel.

This still doesn't make any sense to me.

I would consider carriages as "better" version of fast travel, but still it is fast travel. Like someone wrote before, watching the whole travel instead teleport would be a pretty nice. Maybe adding some weight limited container to carriage so you can take more stuff with you than just by using own horse. Maybe increase travel speed too a bit, so there is other benefits too than just being lazy.

Fast travel as current form would be good only for magical teleporting. Maybe as one day spell or as teleport runes which have very limited locations. Teleport runes would only recharge from sunlight or something which requires some time after each usage.

Perhaps they should have looked at Read Dead Redemption with more attention in this regard; and even for the horses/wildlife (the horses,grizzly and bears in RdR were outstanding )
