does crytek care at all about PC gamers who feel betrayed?

Post » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:30 am

It does not seem so. It seems you would rather blame PC gamers for piracy (despite it existing, arguably EASIER on consoles) in an effort to shift your development towards consoles.

Obviously this was based solely on money, and not artistic expression or creativity. but the failure is not just in your betraying yourselves and the people who made you, but also in the fallacy that you can't make money developing good pc games.

the partnership with EA should have been warning enough - alas I held out hope that you would have at least a fraction of the creative integrity you once held. I was obviously disappointed.

If the sp progression system worked, if skill points and nano credit stuck. if melee and stealth worked. if multiplayer lobbies worked. if joining games worked, if leveling up mp worked, if, if , if all of those things worked properly -

I would still be playing a simplistic re-imagining of a once great game. complete with lesser texture quality, smaller maps, dumber ai, hidden copy protection, and of course - missing the PROMISED DirectX11 features.... to be tacked on at a later date. eventually. maybe. though you won't give ANY official word on it on the front page.

I actually thought you were one of the good guys, but it seems even you guys sold out. enjoy the money, you've lost more fans

actually, yes.

and i hope you are not trying to say that because programming is hard, all should be forgiven - because that would be an incredibly dense statement to make.

you're probably not trying to make that point though, so i'll let you elaborate...

Well,i'd better wait for a couple of months to get a properly working version.Small issues, yes. Are they fixing them ATM?Of course. But it's all about quantity of these problems.Btw,while searching on
google,i've found an interesting programm, called crysisEnhancedGraphicOptions. Why was it made not by a programmer from
Crytek.Without it i can only set resolution,v sync(i don't know what it is) and set my system abilities(only 3!!!).I don't understand!Crytek had a plenty of time to do a proper graphic settings menu?I can't even Run the game without lags, because i can't set it up for my system.

I'm not even talking about mp issues.I bought my limited edition copy on
the 24th.After completing first campaighn mission,i was very pleased. But when i got to mp,i was soo furious. To redeem my LE code i spent half an hour!!!

Well,i don't care if programming is hard. The game was released too early.

And,for goodness's sake, what was AIM ASSIST in beta for?!?!

In what way is it 'arguably easier' to hack consoles?? PS3 would still be hack free if the key had not been released! 4 years of total safety yet PC games are hacked on a ridiculously regular basis.
X-Box might be more easily hackable.............. as it's microsoft based.

once they are hacked it is easier for consolers to play copied games. the hacking only needs to be done once, and even that isn't any harder than what pc pirates have to do each pirated game they install.

it's not like every pc gamer reverse engineers the code, or every consoler finds the keys or hacks the ps3 to play pirated games. they are end users , and for them it is easier to download and burn an iso, or copy it to a hard drive - than it is to run keygens and cracks and emulators, and network monitoring and blocking software, and patches. etc, etc, etc.

either way, the problem is not the platform being hackable. the problem is the dev and publishers trying to squeeze every red cent out of us. $60 a game, even crappy ones. no price difference between good and cheap games, no demos for many games. no returns, no trade ins without repercussions.

be a quality dev and give something that works well and is fun, and people will buy it. crysis 1 was pirated to hell for two reasons: mos tpeople knew it probably wouldn't work for them, and it was popular as all hell! but being popular means it sold more too. the same goes with all the highest pirated games, they are the highest selling too.

of course piracy is not ethical, but it does not justify ripping off pc gamers that MADE your company by buying your games.

really though. for all Crytek's talk about piracy and hackers, they did absolutely nothing to stop them from ruining the MP game, and they even allowed it to be leaked early to give hackers a head start.

Crytek is simply a failure at this point. no matter how much money they ripped off from us.

and of course consolers are enjoying it - it was made for them! that's the whole point. they ripped us off, to give consolers a better experience. that is complete crap.

This game was clearly designed for consoles and ported over, the original Crysis looks better than this crap. This isn't just an issue with DirectX 11, the entire game was designed WITHOUT the PC gamers that got Crytek where it is, and now they just crapped on our dinner plate to show their thanks. I mean just look at those textures, /vomit.

I will never buy another Crytek title ever again.

exactly. not at all just dx11. entirely missing promised features, included features are broken, and now going back on their word to patch said promised features.

tiny maps, crappy textures, console UI.

sad that no one at Crytek even bothers lying and saying "Yes, we do care about pc gamers"... it is so obvious their disdain for us it's sickening. After we made their company by supporting FC and C1.

I can honestly say I am disgusted personally by the company and every single one of their employees.

You have to understand the way companies work. To crytek they owe us nothing. To them they made a product that we bought, which they see as a fair trade. When someone pirates it they just see a bunch of punks stealing something they made. What they fail to realize that the internet is a separate world entirely where the PEOPLE have complete control. Console gamers are just zombies of the media who buy whatever **** handed to them. PC gamers won't settle for that. Internet users have the power to build a company up...and have the power to tear them down. Crytek is starting to realize this and instead of growing balls and running their business with integrity. They are running away to consoles with their tails between their legs. Luckily i have the feeling that over time gamers will do the same thing they did with crysis 1. They will get the game realize how bs it is and mod it making something better than a company like crytek ever could. -Btw i don't mean this to be offensive to anyone gamers or crytek. Im just saying it the way it is.
