Does Ring of the Beast work with Vampire Lord claws?

I was wondering if the bonus applies to the Vampire Lord claws too

Uhm, the whole point of the ring is making your vampire lord claws stronger. The description mentioning khajit claws is most likely just be a mistake.

No, it isn't it applies to vampire lord form and regular form and since khajit are the only ones with claws in their regular forms, they get a bonus

This is something that's been puzzling me as well, and since I probably won't have Dawnguard for another 26 days or so, I figure I'll ask here. Do active effects from "vanilla game" equipment transfer over to Vampire Lord form? Or is it only active effects from special items in the DLC?

It seems that items do not unequip for vampire lords (atleast not all of them). Some enchantments (but not all) seems to work even while your vamp lord.

Someone did a exploit to make a super item but it didnt work in vamp lord form, others have stated that normal items do, so i have no idea if there are some special rules to what enchantments/items work while in vamp lord form.

Everything you have equipped carries over to your Vampire Lord form (see rings which pretty much state that, such as ring of the beast +100 HP and +20 claw damage in VL form)

It also explains why when you turn back you have everything equipped.

Not true, as a said using the exploit to create god like items didnt carry over. So EVERYTHING that you have equipped do NOT carry over. I have no idea if theres a special rule of some sort or if theres a cap on how much can be carried over in terms of health and regen or whatever.

I've been trying to figure that out since the beta. I think the game checks your stats+equipment and then either add/deducts points until they reach a certain number. That said, I wonder if there are some enchants that could work. I've been messing around with fortify stamina regen, but with no luck thus far.

Yeah.... no. The necklace works perfectly fine as well as so does the ring. The necklace that is suppose to give me 2 gargoyles gives me what it says it does; 2 gargoyles. Your argument is invalid. ^_^

I think you misunderstood what he says. Try wearing a fortify health armor piece. Then take it off. The vampire lord will still have the same health. It's obviously taking equipment into account, but they're being offset by something.

Speaking of these lovely bits of jewelry, does anyone happen to know what the magic regen bonus is from the Ring of the Erudite?

Uhm, i think you missunderstod me. I never said that the necklace and ring dont work, i said that not all items carry over.

So for example if you have a armor with a nice enchantment its not sure that your enchantment carry over (Seems to depend on the enchantment in question).

One theory is that the game checks to see if you've got a vampire artifact ring and/or amulet equipped when you initiate the transformation into lord form, and then allows the piece(s) of equipment to stay on, thereby giving their bonuses even in lord form. But reports that custom enchants on Amulet of Gargoyles do not carry over to lord form (despite being generally effective) seem to contradict this. Apparently they've tweaked the equipment engine quite a bit just to handle these four specific items, which seem to give their bonuses to the player in a way that's fundamentally different from how equipped items work normally.

Exactly. You can rename the equipment and you can still summon up the extra gargoyle. As I said, I think the enchantments are ALWAYS active, but any changes to stats from enchantments are reset. I think we can test this via the Aetherial crown. I tried the ring of namira, but it's impossible to feed on dead bodies as a vampire lord. :(

Interaction with corpses is impossible as a vampire lord (cant even loot them), the feeding might work fine but you cant activate it ^^.

I realized that after equipping it. I'm thinking that the Aetherial Crown with the lady stone WILL work, however.

EDIT: Wait...Konahrik. I bet that'll still work because it's a script effect. Hmm....

Hmmm, so say that I have a piece of equipment that wasn't a part of the Dawnguard DLC, such as an amulet that boosts my health regen rate or something. Transforming to Vampire Lord would offset the increased health regen I'd get from that amulet?

Oh well, I guess at least I'd still be a Vampire Lord haha

Yes. However, if it does indeed work via offsetting stats, script effects might still work. I'm going to try Konahrik, ebony armor, and anything else with a script effect.
