Does the fortify one-handed enchant affect daggers?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 7:19 pm

I've heard some people say yes while others say no... i've yet to try it for myself but was wondering if anyone could confirm one way or the other.

Thanks.

Just to clarify...are we talking about the one handed skill increasing dagger damage or whether or not you can put fortify one hander on a dagger?

Pretty sure the question is that if the enchantment effect "Fortify One Handed" (which I think can be applied to rings, amulets, gloves, and armour) applies bonus damage to one handed weapons.

Short answer, I don't know, but probably.

The reason is, yes, daggers are one handed weapons. Therefore, anything that broadly benefits one handed weapons should benefit daggers.

The "Fortify One-Hander" enchant that increases one-hander damage by a certain %. The one that can be applied to boots, gloves, ring and necklace.

I've read that it doesn't increase dagger damage. I was wondering if anyone here can confirm this or say otherwise.

The one-hand blade perk operates for all one hand blade weapons. In my view, it actually makes daggers a very viable weapon...I've been using a double dagger or shield dagger or dagger sword combo for most of the game.

The benefit is that with power attacks you get more attack with less stamina loss, and that's good if you go for the critical hit upgrade as well.

To the best of my knowledge it does. I had some gloves that had the enchant and I did more damage with them equipped but this is anecdotal evidence so take it as such.
