Does the plugin insta-kill the Vigilants?

If you go by that scale keep in mind that games always start at 60 bucks. If games were priced based on content skyrim would cost a whole lot more.

very true.

however in rencent months i have found myself buying less console games and more PC games because PC games are better priced and the market for them is more in line with what they cost. Price drops on PC versions of games happen months before the same price drop on the console version. It used to be the reverse was true, but that has changed. I have found i spend less money overall on the same games i would buy for my console. Im thinking Digital distibution such as Steam reduces the cost to deliver to some degree.

back on point though, I think the 60 dollar price point on most console games is artifically puffed up and is too high....

Looks at the list...Knights of the nine adds 2 sets of armor, 4 weapons, 8 new locations, and only around 8 quests, YEAH there very close...

Well Knights of Nine had a much better story, the Characters had much more story to them IE: The Knight and his squire you meet trying to do the same pilgram path as you who later dies trying to retreive the sword and his squire comes and finds you...how the Priory of the Nine is empty and in ruin and as you begin recovering the pieces your deeds spread throughout the land and others come.

how about the story of the Ghost Knights? how the leader and the spirit of the guy you battle of the sword(Lord Vlindrell) hated each other and finally got the chance to reconcile their differrences in death thanks to your character....KOTN had a much better story...your actions actually made a difference...i remember how much of a warm feeling i had in my heart the day i completed it...it felt like my guy had made two former best friends friends again who in life had hated each other over petty things.

How about the knight who refused to loan the boots of Kyne to his Knight Brother who died trying to get the Mace of Stendar....had he just loaned him the boots.....its stuff like this....

its not just about the content...its the story...KOTN had me hooked from the get go....Dawnguard...meh....the quest i completed so far....jujst after the Soul Cairn have been boring...feels more like a chore....whereas KOTN had me hooked the minute i met Pelinail in the clouds....

On one of my characters I didn't even start the Dawnguard quest and the Hall was destroyed.

The Vigilants and the Dawnguard are two different groups.. The Vigiliants are a monk-base group where they hunt down anything that preys on mortals (And almost always epicly fails... Trust me, follow them on the road to their doom!)

The Dawnguard is a Knightly type of Faction with a fort, crossbows, etc.. They also only hunt Vampires, not anything that preys on mortals...

I personally think the Vigiliants were mainly a test to see our reaction and, from what I've read, our reaction was that they pathetic and quite annoying... So that is prolly why they got epicly owned in this DLC..

Also, which group sounds like more fun? The Dawnguard or a group of pathetic monks that thinks they are 'all dat'?

To answer the OP's question, it only gets destroyed either after level 10, or, the most likely one, starting the Dawnguard questline. I can't give a solid answer on which one it is, but before that the place is untouched.
I visited it so I can steal all their stuff and visit their magically disappearing basemant before the place gets destroyed (and the basemant disappears).
Why the Vigilant's hall get destroyed?!? O_o

My character Aussie has never started any of the Dawnguard Quests, although the option to start the new quest is in the journal from the guard comments, the Hall of the Vigilant was already destroyed when she returned there after the DLC was installed. But she is a high level character, a lower level one might get to visit it before it is destroyed if they are quick enough at finding it. If not it seems no great loss.

A bit off topic but in a scripted even on the side of the road I saw three "Vigilant Vampire Hunters" killing a vampire. I joined to finish him off. They were just like other vigilants but with a new "title".

Haven't seen werewolves yet...

Saw a Vigilant Vampire Hunter get royally owned by a Volkihar Master Vamp the first time i exited Riften after D/L the DLC.

@Jusey1, I'd much rather a sect of Monks that go around fighting the denizens of Oblivion than Beth's attempts at reaching out to the Twilight [censored]

Glad to hear there is something to them, it seems cool now, that you can actually still get to see the vigilants and who they are prior to the attack. Makes the world feel a bit more alive.

So anything involving vampires is now cursed by that [censored]? TES vampires are nothing like the fairies, this has been explained several times

I find it funny after the Hall of the Vigilant is destroyed and you talk to one of the Vigilants at Stendarrs Beacon they'll direct you to their already dead leader. Eh they were already weak anyways plus it was fun killing them for not letting me walk around in my Daedric armor.

I feel sorry for the Vigilants tbh.

Before DG I was always a little annoyed that they didn't get a questline or were joinable... I felt like this was a faction in dire need of my help ala the thieves guild.

When the first vigilants I met on the road told me about the hall I ran all the way there... boy was I disappointed.

But I still had a soft spot for them, they were kinda likable in a bumbling, amateur way... when the hall gets napalmed in DG, it had a bit of an impact on me, enough to make me vow to create a dedicated character to fight against the vamps, daedra and any and all supernatural threats... I will create a one man Vigil in their honour (after my vamp playthrough naturally lol).

Plus the female named npc leader was kinda interesting, I really wish they had something, quests, a follower, something.

Poor guys.

I was hoping the lodge was still intact so I could make it my home. It was disappointing I couldn't do that since in a way I found it to be a nice warming place from the cold, what a waste.

Actually, I kinda don't blame him for that... If a very powerful, and evil, God is talking to you... What would you do?

@Valtiel: How in heck can Dawnguard even relate to Twilight?

Gotta hand it to Bethesda. They used to introduce factions and ideas in one game only to eliminate them in the sequel (Shadowscales for example). Now, they introduce a faction and then kill them off in the DLC.

Shadowscales wasn't a faction, and they been around since Daggerfall if I'm correct.

They aren't a joinable faction, but I still consider them to be a faction. They're members of the Dark Brotherhood, sure, but they're also a faction within Black Marsh's society.

No. A Shadowscale is a Title that they are born with, and earned.

The named vigilants died with honor, One of them faced 4 vampires head on, and managed to slay half of them. Another one refused to give information, despite torture, due to his "vows" to Stendar. Im happy how the vigilants turned out.
