Does your pure mage add health?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:45 pm

Or do you only add magicka? Because for my 2nd mage character, im only adding magicka (so as to have the "pure mage" feel, lol), and im thinking this would probably guarantee that i'll die in one hit to anything, at later levels?
Im using a mod that rebalances magic, so my impact perk is now a 50% chance of staggering instead :celebration: so i can't stunlock permanently. How does your pure mage character deal with low health at later levels?

I add a bit of health (and even some stamina for sprinting and carrying loot). I cope with my relatively low health by wearing light armor.

140 ~ 150 health is enough for a mage.

Eldar/Ancient dragons can and will kill you in one strike if you dont upgrade your health stats. Higher levels = higher damage, and even with 80% mitigation many attacks will kill you outright in one shot if you dont increase your health.

No, I pretty much do 70% magic and 30% health, though full magic would be fun (not on higher difficulties than adept though) good use of become ethereal will prevent you from being 1 hit in close quarters... So yes full magicka is valid I guess

Sooo full magicka is quite viable if im playing on adept? :)
because i don't wanna screw up my character by getting one shotted all the time in the future.

I've added health because my Magicka is already high enough to kill just about everything. I can stun lock dragons to death for pete's sake.... soon I'll work on enchanting then I really won't need all that much magicka at all, already have some items saved up to enchant up, including one of the few unenchanted robes that are around.

It's viable, if you play in a mobile and offensive enough way to avoid taking big hits. I'd think forward to your later character. If you're planning to get lots of cost-reducing perks and enchantments, investing in too much magicka might be pointless. If you're planning instead to get health fortifying enchantments, then that gives you scope to compensate (to some degree) if you find yourself taking hits.
