Doing Institute storyline but staying friendly with...

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 10:06 pm

Can you complete 'The Battle for Bunker Hill' and not ruin your relationship with the RR and BoS?

It looks like it needs doing to start the Institute storyline, as the guide says both it and 'Mankind Redefined' need completing before most of the Institutes Miscellaneous Quests become available.

Ultimately I'm looking for the ending where you keep MM, RR & BoS friendly. But am wondering how far down the Institutes storyline you can safely go.

Pretty sure I shot people at Bunker Hill by the dozen and it didn't turn the faction hostile. I believe the only way to make them hostile is to either shoot a named character who's a member of that faction or do a quest that outright tells you it will make a faction your enemy.

Oh, and don't even stroll by the Railroad HQ with X6 in tow, and I don't mean don't enter it - don't even pass it. Danse can walk right in tho.

Yes just warn them before the battle and do what they want you to, the railroad wants you to do nothing to the Synth but kill the Courser with you and the BoS wants you to kill the Synth and the Courser with you. Than you lie to Father saying "it was a trap" like Admeral Akbar

I have done this battle 4 times and I have never had any trouble killing any faction during the fight. The only one who seems to get bent out of shape after the fight is Father if you let the synths go. I don't recall any blame tossed my way from the RR if I kill or recall them and the BoS don't even mention it no matter what outcome you pick from what I have seen.

What I didn't like is even if you don't tell the BoS about they synth's at Bunker Hill they still show up and Father still all but calls you out on that if you don't recall. All that I could think of at that moment was I wish I could tell him to watch his tone because I have no emotional attachment to a 60 year old man who claims to be my son and I often express myself with gunfire first questions second. One more word I dare you!!

They ignore me whenever I try to shoot them. Senpai didn't notice me. :'(

Yeah, I was with the Institute, Railroad, and had worked occasionally with the BOS before Bunker Hill. I decided to 100% commit to the Institute before the battle, and killed every Railroad Agent and Knight I could find in the battle. The Railroad was still cool with me afterward ... I'm guessing it's because I left no witnesses. Bunker Hill was devoid of all non-synthetic life by the time I was done.

I shot plenty of BoS during that mission and they didn't even turn hostile while i was doing it.

I take no companion and shoot no-one (except a Turret or two)

Until the Courser gets a Gauss Rifle in the back...

Then I loot all the multiple BoS, Institute and Railroad gear and stash them in the Milk vending machine near the entrance.

Takes three trips to clear/sell all the booty and loads of Power Armor parts...
