I love the art style, the throwback music to Morrowind... even if it's the equivalent of Bethesda nudging you going "Remember Morrowind? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Remember??" .... It really captures the style of Morrowind in my opinion, from the sounds of the Silt Striders to mushroom houses of the Telvanni.
My only complaint is that Miraak wasn't really fleshed out as a character, or a villain. His goals seemed kinda small for someone of his power... you're telling me he's got all the power in the world and all he wants to do is take over a small ice-covered island named Solstheim... why not the world? why not the universe? Like I said before too... you hate him for the wrong reasons too. I didn't hate him for being a villain, or for all the evil stuff he did... but hated him for being ANNOYING and stealing my dragon souls. That's really all... when I killed him it was just business.
The Apocrypha, especially the art style, is amazing though. Some of those areas made me physically uneasy - just the way the shadows are, and how everything is so eery and eyeballey. They did a really good job with the DLC - I think a lot of you need to guage you expectations accordingly... This isn't an expansion pack, or a new game... it's extra content for Skyrim. 20 dollars worth, to put a number on it. Each one of these DLC packs have given me about 10 additional hours of gameplay, not including side quests... so I'm not complaining at all.
I get that a lot of you PS3 users are pissed about the late delivery of this DLC and I think that that anger is clouding your judgement of the actual content. This DLC is at the very least equal to Dawnguard in terms of quality and quantity of content... and I didn't see mass outrage over Dawnguard. Not on the level I see with Dragonborn, at least.
