I don't work for you, Bethesda

Post » Fri Oct 01, 2010 2:36 am

Ok, this is absolutely rediculous. I bought this game when it first came out. The only thing the patch did was make lever action guns a little better on reload while moving. Still doesn't work right, but at least doesn't get me killed everytime I reload because I can't raise my gun or shoot.

I've put over 500 hours on this game which is nothing compared to Oblivion and Fallout 3 which combined would be around 10,000 hours over the years. (not exageratting).

Now, I don't work for you and there's no reason for me to be your slave-labor game tester. FIX YOUR [censored]! Out of 12 characters made I've only been able to complete the game 3 times and once was for Yes Man a second time because For the Republic is unfinishable at the point of the presidential assassination.

I have seen some of the same but mostly different glitches each time. Currently I cannot enter the NCR embassy and ED-E does not allow me to see cloaked enemies and when he dies I keep his perk but cannot recruit Rex.

Now, this game would be the best ever if it worked. But, it doesn't work. So, either MAKE it work correctly or refund everyones money. Because right now you have not earned a penny of it and we're all your slave-labor game testers PAYING YOU TO TEST YOUR GAMES!!

I am so unhappy with Bethesda right now. I won't buy another thing from you if this game isn't fixed this month. This is the sixth month. And incase you don't care just note that I have all 10 dlcs for Oblivion and all five for FO3.

But Bethesda were responsible for the quality assurance and testing the game, they could have delayed it for a later release but chose not too, presummabley so that it didn't compete with the technologically superior Skyrim.

Yeah but that's your opinion, and I don't give a [censored] about the opinions of journalists and their ratings which obviously (in the minds of some) makes us wrong, or how many prefer either, just like what you like with whatever justification suits and stop trying to stir [censored] up.

You seem to want a perfect life. Even the a game world is bound to have a few glitches. Your kind of absolutist response is out of proportion the the success of 10,000 hours of playing. Work around them just like you do in life. You may want to get help for your addiction.

no he just wants a game that works like everyone else....
no game is perfect and he's not saying they should be only that it should work correctly,
morrowind was 10x more complex and a wayyy bigger world but not even close to the amount of game breaking glitches/bugs that are in fallout new vegas(they use the same engine).
new vegas is hands down the the most glitched/bugged major game title i've ever played and it's [censored], i love bethesda and obsidian but this is just ridiculous it SEEMS like they care more about the money now rather then spending endless hours on making a beautiful complex game that works properly.

on another note bethesda is trying over simplify their games and i hate it, say goodbye to spellcrafting in skyrim...

10,000 hours is a combination of Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls IV over a course of many, many years. 500 hours is roughly what I've managed to put on New Vegas. Each character for New Vegas has more problems than all video games I've ever played combined over 25 years. You might want to learn how to read in full before barfing out whatever comes to mind.

That's for FO3 and Oblivion... since Oblivion came out.. many, many years ago. COMBINED hours for the TWO games. Yes, it's a lot. But, not all in a row.

Exactly. I'm not looking for perfection rather functionability. I don't bother mentioning that in Oblivion... as a vampire.. I still can't save while taking sun damage or the file won't load. Or, that in FO3 Shalebridge Ant Tunnels freeze 90% of the time with different characters when I try to enter and that after 140 hours fast travel stopped working once. Those games aren't worth complaining about because the ratio of hours to problems makes the games very enjoyalbe regardless. However, NV the problems far outweight the hours. It would be the best game ever many times over. Better than the previous... if it worked. It still doesn't work. Which means it still shouldn't have been released, yet. My current character I can't enter the last section of the strip and can't use ED-E for the horrible static sound coming from him... to name an absolute minimum.

I should say that I do love the crafting recipies (post patch) and all the weapons (exept miniguns incl. Avenger because of the sound malfuncion) and weapon mods. The unique weapons actually looking unique is a huge plus.

Yes, I've had it freeze entering the Goodspring Store and Lt. Hayes' tent after interacting with the powder gangers. By interacting I mean I destroyed them single-handedly or helped them repel the NCR attack. I tried other doors as well (Vikki & Vance, Mojave Express) with no luck. It's happened several times at that early stage in the game. I had to restart my last two characters for that exact reason. This current one I was able to do "I fought the law" and have put 100 hours since then. Still can't enter the NCR embassy but recently can enter the final section of the strip again. I saw somewhere on here about carrying an old cowboy hat into the strip with you. That's pre-patch information but it seemed to work. I did notice the patch changed McCafferys' hat... as well as took away the Holy Frag Grenades.

I agree its really annoying . Its like an awesome game but its just so glitched and bugged you cant really finish it. Ive actually gotten a new disk and it still froze and such. Its really aggarating.

It is annoying that the testers arent doing their jobs properly. The first day i played it i managed to 'brake' it and thats what the games testers are supposed to do 'brake' a game and then the designers are supposed to re-write the code so it doesnt 'brake' easily then re-test it.

I totally agree! I DON'T WORK FOR YOU EITHER and yet spend so many hours/days/weeks/months NOT playing the damned game but trying to find solutions to the bugs. And the money I've wasted trying it on different platforms, **** what an idiot I've been. (I've PC, Xbox and PS).

I loved the Elder Scrolls series, and Fallout Series but the frustration of continually hitting game-breaking bugs is just too much. I'll be VERY CAUTIOUS before I invest any more of my hard earned cash and precious time into any more of your games - it's not like there's nothing else out there.

PLEASE get your act together, use a better engine and up to date technology etc.. Your creativity is fine but your technical guys need shooting. Despite my love of Elder Scrolls I think there's more chance I'll meet Moses than buy Skyrim.

One way I would play your future games .... EMPLOY ME AS A TESTER .... because the 2, (or is it 3?) morons you currently use are USELESS!
