Don't you just love the dangerous feeling of Skyrim?

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 6:57 am

I have played every TES games since Daggerfall, I have to say, Skyrim makes me feel most dangerous and cautious when being outside.

There are areas with creatures that are deadly for a low level character, and they like to jump you out of nowhere. One minute I was walking on a mountain road with some goats, next minute there's a saber tooth chasing my a$$.

I love this game, it makes you fear and respect the wild. Kind of bringing me back to Daggerfall, but feels even more dangerous.

Also I just love the organic feeling of melee, it feels so dynamic and deadly, there are so many times that my character does an execution move and finish an enemy while hanging on the last drop of health.

Yeah, I love it. I actually almost got killed by a mudcrab when I first encountered one . . . And several bandits have killed me in one on one fights.

I do love it quite a bit. I kind of got the same feel as I did when I play Dark/Demon Souls. They have tempered me to not get all flusttered with the default difficulty. I do find nigh-undefeatable bossses kind of a pain after the 5th or so time. Not even dark souls was that tough for me.

I prefer the way the enemies don't level with you like in oblivion. Makes it feel more "real" knowing that some areas have have easy to deal with creatures like wolves but then if you stray too far then one of those badass sabretooths can come out of nowhere and wipe you out before you barely knew it was there! Loving it!

It's a bit like exploring the world in the Gothic games. There are some places you will get destroyed and others that are safe. It's much more exciting that way and it feels satisfying going back to kill something that originally killed you with one hit

I`m with you man. Yesterday I was jumping over a little creek, in the dark and suddenly a mudcrab that was resting in the water jumps on me. It freeks the [censored] out of me

I've been playing on expert difficulty and figured out the hard way that giants one shot me.. I had saved right at the start of a dragon encounter which turned into a dragon and giant encounter and everytime I focused on the giant if he came after me and I didn't dodge his swing he'd one shot me and I'd fly like 1000 feet straight up.

happened like 3 times before I finally killed them both and I laughed every time I died.

Just encountered white (snow?) troll for the first time, Got killed by one shot. Ahhh this is too exciting, I will have to go all the way back to level up a bit and come back later...

For some reason hunting seems a lot more appealing in Skyrim.

Slaughterfish are relentless! I had one attack me while I was swimming in a river, so I naturally just got out of the river. The thing followed me for what seemed like miles down river, and I swear the thing was trying to force itself to evolve lungs to come up on land after me!

It's a lot like the MMM and Obscuro PC mods for Oblivion. The farther from civilization you go, the more dangerous it gets. I'm kind of fretful and excited at the same time. (have yet to start up the game)

Trolls.

I had more trouble with a single, normal troll than I did with a dragon.

...don't even remind me of the Frost Troll...

I encountered a glitch where the slaughterfish was swiming in the air, above water level. :/

Dragons seem to attack me 90% of the time when I fast-travel to an area that is not inside a city.. I've killed 3 dragons in one and the same place, (the city with D.. something. Drakstar? No idea).

Dawnstar?

Anyways yeah, most of the time when I travel on foot I'm looking more at the sky than I am at the ground. Now that I'm advancing in the MQ the frequency of dragons is a bit higher. All I hear is that unnerving shriek when I travel.

Same here. Went from Riverwood to Whiterun and decided to take the waterfall shortcut. On Adept, at lvl 5, a Mudcrab almost had me for dinner. Barely survived it :P.

I walked out of a cave, and then 2 dragons were fighting, one killed the other and it died right in front of me, I gotthe soul without ever hitting him ,that was pretty awesome, some 10mnutes later I was walking toward a qeust, and in the following 5 muinutes, I was in combat with 2 dragons ...and 3 sabre cat's 0_o...I died a few times, then I pulled the dragon away form them all, and killed it..repeat. I FELT LIKE A REAL DOVAHKIN and in 16 hours non stop playing i killed 10 dragons(A) now i'm sooo happyy

So I'm not the only one to get launched hundreds of feet into the air when getting smacked by a giant's club? It svcks, but it's a beautiful way to go.

Oh my god these were hilarious.

During my second Dragon fight, I found the dragon harassing a giant and his mammoth. It was insane seeing this giant put the beat down on a dragon. I only got two hits in before the giant finished the dragon off. I made sure not to get to close to the giant too, I didn't feel like getting one-shot killed again. I think I've seen enough clouds up close.
