I dont think i will be getting skyrim soon

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 6:03 pm

1: Many people are complaining about bugs and glitches

2: while the engine certaintly has improved with rendering distant objects- Up close everything looks utterly [censored]!! I remember i sounded like a graphics ho half a year ago, i realy think bethesda should have listened to me. Im going to have to wait till some mods come out to improve things and hope that my pc can run such a poorly optimised looking thing

- textures are horid
-models are often low polly. The hand's look like they were from a last generation console!!
- water looks hideous
- animations look poor. They might have had a fantastic animation system but the great book was read by a blindman
^ a lot of this stuff looks like it was made by a mod team rather than a professional game company

3: the game is missing important things such as spears, ui, probably crossbows , werebears (although quickly checked a wiki and it said werewolves were in) and it could follow the lore a bit better (ice vampires for instance) . I want these to be modded in

4: lastly, on a more positivene note: i want to buy the game with all the dlc :)

Why do you people feel that its of grave importance to share this stuff with us?

I don't believe anyone cares if you buy the game or not, especially considering you've jumped to conclusions you could not have any insight regarding due to not having played the game.

Probably a smart move, actually. Cheaper price, solid mod releases, patches out.

I suggest you find a place where the current flows directly into shore, then it looks terrible - and stupid.

Uncanny valley of water. Looks good enough that I notice how poorly it resembles real water.

You listed a long list of problems for a game you haven't played yet?

The lack of werebears and crossbows is enough to keep anyone from playing.

Over a million people bought it. Most people will only be saying bad things right now or they'd be playing the game. If you are picking out the bad experiences from the sheer number of people playing, of course it will seem bad. But so will every other game in existence.

Dude. You want higher-poly models and higher res textures? How about you go play a linear FPS.

It just can't be done in a game as huge and open as this. Not when it has to play on this generation of consoles. This is the world we live in, get used to it.

You act like gamesas just sat around saying "Oh, let's make everything really polygonal and low res" as if it never occured to them to make things higher poly/resolution. When obviously they had to cut back a bit so that it will work well in the engine with the hardware that's out there.

What do you expect to happen? The graphics to get better if you wait awhile? It'll only get worse. And if you think textures that were modded in to oblivion and morrowind made the game look better just because it was higher res, I weep for you. What about artistic integrity and design? Who gives a [censored] if it's not super high res?

While some of these are true if your buying for PC you can buy it now. Mods are being and have already been made to change some of what you said. Ps3 or xbox360 it'll be at least another year before DLC comes to either of those or the PC for that matter.

If you're playing video games for the graphics you're playing them for the wrong reason.

Yes best not to buy it mate the game is terrible. you will be simply wasting your money. it makes me sick just thinking of the graphics and don't get me started on the glitches. I think that's what you wanted me to say but I have to admit that the game so huge in depth of gameplay that that was a total lie. The game is so good that the things your on about don't matter one single graphically glitchy bit to me. But at least you can say you are £40 richer than me.

How about the gameplay perhaps? Did you play nintendo or sega for graphics?

You obviously have no idea the technical limitations and performance of a large sandbox game.

I'm not going to shoot you down op, enough have done so already, however, I can honestly say after about 6 hours playing and adapting to the interface you will be doing yourself a great disservice not buying the game if you are a fan of rpg's. From what I have seen this far, it looks like it could be the best I have played to date, and name any rpg released since the zx80 and I have played it, all the way back to text adventures.

There is nothing wrong with the graphics at all, I suspect some PC's have a problem rendering some of the shaders used, but my copy is fine, with a couple of excusable exceptions such as the water.

If I have any real criticism, it is at Beth for dropping attributes to simplify game play for the console kids, and the removal of hotkeys for often used spells/items, as the favourites menu slows the pace a little too much for my tastes; however, there is still plenty depth left over.

Many of the greatest games ever had just average or even poor graphics for their time.

Zelda - Ocarina of Time
Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic I & II
And, oh yeah, TES III - Morrowind.

It's about the gameplay. You want graphics, go buy Forza.

Ahh, I see. So immersion, story, setting, graphics, theme, music/sounds are not The Right Reasons.
