Hey guys, I will be getting DOOM 3 BFG Edition for my Xbox 360. I am just wondering this.... will DOOM 1 and 2 be straight up XBLA ports?! Or will they actually try to fix that port... because I for one... was VERY upset that it did not support widescreen TV's.... in fact I had to play it 4:3... I WANT TO PLAY IT 16:9!!!! Also, will it have HD Sprites, Sound, Music, Textures, etc.etc.etc.?! Ala.... Marathon Durandal?!

We don't know yet; nothing has been announced regarding these ports. My feeling is that they're more likely to keep the classic look and feel rather than tart it up, but that's just a guess.

I second that, id has never cared about touching up their old games, they just make make improvements to the new ones.
Every time they re-release the classics for some new system, it's the exact same graphics and gameplay from the 1990's. It's like overdone nostalgia, but I guess some people like that, if not most people.

The classics, as one interview states, are on the id Tech 4.5 engine, but with old graphics.

More specifically, the games are using the same online/networking code as Rage, since they never got released on the PSN and thus never had that code rewritten for PS3 play like the XBLA versions did for Xbox Live.

Anyone know if the PS3 versions of 1 and 2 will have Trophies? It'd be kinda lame for the XBL versions to have Achievements, and we miss out.

Then again, I'm on PS3 and am used to being screwed over most of the time...
