At first glance it looked exactly like Doom 3 but edited with a new trailer.

Graphics seemed to be exactly the same, despite stating that it "offers greatly enhanced graphics".
Only real difference seems to be that it includes also the previous doom games, and that the flashlight is now armor-mounted and not an item you equip instead of a weapon.

John Carmack:

“Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls. New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it.”

The term "silky smooth frame rate" (as well as highly responsive controls) is usually (with no known exceptions in fact) used to describe 60 fps.

What is that music. I love the music Id software uses in all their trailers. For those who make them +1 you have amazing choice :D

That head mounted display looks like a lot of fun. I wonder if this is something that would be available for purchase when the BFG edition is released.

What about the PC? Why isn't it announced for pc too?
Surely that's a silly mistake because they obviously don't want to anger the pc fanbase even more than they did with rage, do they?

At the end of the trailer, it is clear that it will be released on PC as well.

Well, well, well, what a treat! Does this mean we might get an announcement for Doom 4 this year?

It does? There were no parts with a flashlight in the trailer, all fights were either in lit areas or lit by gunshots and enemy fire.

YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!

WAIT A MINUTE NOW!

So the head mounted display set will actually be sold along with the Doom3BFG edition????????? Did I hear that part of the video correctly?? You can't just show it and not sell it!

I think it'd be smart to sell those, as long as every future IdSoftware game uses them. Let's see where this goes, seems like it can work out amazingly or fall flat.

Edit: Oh and, they'd better have those for PC, too, not just consoles.

All the footage from trailer have nothing to do with what you can get in SikkMod which is far superior than this! But new levels and 3d is woth the purchase:)

That's true, the Sikkmod updates the graphics to HD.

However, you know what this means? It means we can run the NEW Doom3 WITH THE SIKKMOD! :D
7 new levels to experience with the SikkMod! :D

Meh, i'd rather they did what Capcom did with megaman, and release a new Classic Doom megawad :hehe: After all i just finished Doom2 and contnued on to Evilution, don't even remember when i last played Doom3

So, i don't see myself buying this for more than 20€.

Meh, there are infinite wads and megawads, I'm tired of running through classic Doom for now. I want thig BFG edition D3, and I want Doom4.
Then I'll want Doom5. Then Doom6

Basically, I want something new.

Doom 4 i want too, especially if it'll be a "remake" of Doom2 in the way Doom3 was a "remake" of Ultimate Doom. Or perhaps rather "re-imagining"? But Doom3 just loses to the classics ^_^

Lol yes you are right ;)

All I meant is that I've kept playing classic for soooooooooo long now that I'd like some new Doom3 flavor. Not that I play through Doom3 anymore, as you know it looses it's charm after the first two or three playthroughs. The only reason I'd go back to Doom3 is for these new levels, I can't wait.

And yeah, I'm happy for Doom4 being more "classic-ish." Pretty much, I want that feeling, but without having to see the same graphics over and over and over and over again, that's why I'm teaking a break from the 90's Dooms for now.
