Doors to Cyrodiil?

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 3:34 am

If you look at the map Fort Dawnguard is actually on the other side of the gates leading to Morrowind. However instead of using those gates they made that stupid cave right before the gates. WHY???

I don't use the quest icon so I went to the gates expecting the fort to be there...
The way i see it, is that the fort is hidden somewhere off the main roads, and therefore the reason it has to be reached by going through that cave.. i mean, concidering that forts history i do understand the reason it is "hidden" :D

11/11/2011 was all Microsoft's fault... and the Xbox360 caused it!
Actually, Todd Howard was the main push behind that date. He got it in his head for that release and was very adamant in several interviews about it. It was on an odd day o0f the week for a release as XBL is favored to Tuesdays. Todd still pushed for that date.

I've heard and read a few times about "doors to cyrodiil" or something like that. A doors that the player can't open and suggestions has been made they are there for future dlc's.

But I've never seen these doors, though I haven't looked very much. Does anyone now what i'm talking about and where this/these door/doors are?

cheers :-)
Yes, there is one south of Helgen. There's also one to Morrowind and apparently one to Hammerfell, but I've never found that one. I think I'm missing one but I'm not awake enough right now. :P

I heard from post on the forums (regarding why they executed Ulfric in Helgen) some sort of cliff side of avalanche blocked off that the road behind the gate to Cyrodiil preventing the Empire from taking Ulfric back to Cyrodiil. I doubt it's for future DLC. It's just better to have a legit gate there rather than the infamous invisible wall. Not everything is a hint for DLC you know.

Borders are just that, borders. I highly doubt that anything will come from them, even the highly dubious Redguard claims.

I just want My Skyrim Character to be able to visit the Wizards Tower with the view of Bruma, Cheydinhal, and the Imperial City. On a clear day We should see Bravil and Skingrad, too
I actually could see Bethesda using the Gate outside Falkreath for a DLC, there is quite a bit of ingame Worldmap that is available for use.

I think you can go thru the gates if you disable the borders in the ini file. I have the borders disabled, but i haven't got to the borders yet. So, i'm not sure how far you can actually go. I know there are some mods being worked on that go beyond the border.

I went through the gates and continued down the road, but soon you get no further as an invisible wall gives the message *You can't go this way*
