double jump

Post » Mon Oct 01, 2012 6:57 am

I was reading and old gameinformer article about this game that mentioned a double jump. Does anyone know how exactly it is going to work in game? It has me worried because so much of this game seems to be designed with realisim in mind (within context obvisously). So is there an explanation for the double jump or does Corvo just have the ability to jump a second time in mid air for no reason?

It's an upgrade to agility, a passive power. I believe it's on display during The Golden Cat Playthrough.

The double jump is part of a supernatural ability,in this case, the "Agility",the first time you get it,you are able to double jump, the second tier you can sprint faster I guess.

The double jump is an Enhancement that is called Agility. On its first level you gain an improved single jump, and on the second double jumping.

Not exactly, as the people that have played the game at gamescom or eurogamer expo could see in the power menu, Agility is at lvl1: supernatural jump height, and at lvl2: supernatural sprint speed.

In fact, the term "double jump" might be misleading, it's not that you can jump again in mid air as stated in the 1st post, it's an additional height boost if you hold the jump button.

I'm so glad Arkane employees can jump in on the forums every now and then to help out like this.
Thanks.

Very nice, ill be honest, I am glad it's a form of jumping higher instead of actually jumping again to me it's just a bit cliche

So I guess Celerity is not an enhancement in the game then.

Yes and no. At this point I would just wait for the game because apparently everything is wrong and right...

Ok so iknow this post is primarily hinged upon double jump but i just wanted to take the time out to express a few things that i didnt know where possible until i saw this video, mostly becuase ive been avoiding watching the vids cuz i didnt want to spoil too much for myself but i cant help it! Ummm...soo ne ways :

Ive been debating wether or not blink was a dash or actual teleportation. From what ive seen, its both. Blink, imho is short ranged teleportation. When i think of a dash i think of someone on solid ground zippin from here to there but blink allows u to TP (teleport) across a distance without actually getting your feet involved. therin, ive come to my own personal conclusion that blink is a form of teleportion, it is short ranged TP. There ive got that out of the way. Btw i didnt realize u could blink while holding a knocked out npc. Even more awesome.

If a dev could anawer this question id be very happy: Although u cant blink thru a closed window, would it be possible to blink then imediately follow up with a knife slash to break thru the wimdow as u blink toward it?
?

To the OP: Judging from the above video i think its axtually an extra jump

When I played the game at PAX there was a double jump, but I was having difficulty using it. I think you have to hold down the jump button and then it happens. So it's like an extra boost.
