Downloaded a game, but dont know what program I need to play : Othor Games

So I have seen lots of people praising a game (visual novel) Katawa Shoujo. Now the game creeps me out because of what it comes off as (dating sim *shudders*), I admit I am prejudaced against this type of game, but people have said it has great writing, and I have seen people on /v/ make positive life choices because they played this. So I am giving it a shot. I have DLedit, but it says I need a program. What program must I have ?

I think the engine it uses requires Python so I suggest you download and install Python 2.7*

Are you having problems with the initial download on the site? You need a torrent client to open that file.

All you have to do is go to their website and download the installer

The trouble is getting to their website, since it's just being constantly hit up, so it's slow/unresponsive/down 90% of the time (try at night)

Yeah I need something to open that file. Dont know anything about torrents, but would rather avoid DLing something dodgy. Before any mods warn me for talking about torrents, the game is free to DL on their site.

Bittorrent is just a file sharing application, the only "dodgy" files are the stuff you get from pirate/scam sites.

Thts because stuff like dating sims, genuinely creeps me out, and being linked to something like one, is not a good thing.

qbittorrent is where it's at (utorrent clone but without all the crappy corporate behavior)

Also I've seen some weird stuff. Not mentionable even at the site that must not be named. Perhaps someday they'll be more known, but I doubt it. So no the content of it wouldn't shock me, I don't think so. But if it did then brownie points to them.

Well its about disabled girls, and a disabled guy (he has some hert condition) but im just interested due to the reactions I have seen to the game, nothing but praise.

Which makes it sound like a creepy game. But I saw one guy say he is walking 8 miles a day to get fit, and now wants to be a counsellor for disabled people, and he asked some chick out who he never had the balls to ask. Just makes me interested in how good a games writing can be, for people to make those decisions.

Ok person, but there was another guy who said about getting fit too, and one who now intends to ask a girl out, get fit, do well in his education and find a good job... Most people just say it has good writing though.
