Dragon bone weapons not as powerful as daedric upgraded?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:51 am

Hi, i tested this with greatswords, swords and bows. My Dragonbone greatsword does more damage than my Daedric greatsword but with the bow and the normal sword the daedric ones are still higher after both being upgraded to legendary. The base damages are higher on the Dragonbone weapons but that changes by around 3 points after upgrading. I was looking forward to a change of weapons but unfortunately for me i go with the most powerful weapons over how they look.

Perhaps you have the Daedric smithing perk and not the dragon one.

Did you use a potion or smithing related enchantments when you upgraded the daedric?

Hmm weird. When I first got the DLC I immediately went to upgrade my weapons. My Daedric mace (When equipped with all of my other gear) did around 326 damage. I made my new Dragonbone mace and it did around 343 or something like that. I'm pretty sure that Dragonbone is better, you just need to upgrade them in the same way.

For example: If you used a Blacksmith potion that gives a 40% boost on your Daedric, but for Dragonbone you only use a 20% (usually without remembering or realizing) the Daedric will obviously have higher DAM.

Upon upgrading my bow and dagger as well, Dragonbone had higher stats too.

I use enchanted gear, potion stacks, etc. to maximize all of my enchantments/upgrades. The very reason I'm walking around with a 1.5k+ armour rating in Light Armour.

I make sure to upgrade everything with maximum potions and I use the same gear, so it's all equal in terms of self-buffs.

oh, i just mean upgrading the base damage with the ingredients needed to make it legendary, nothing else. I just turned skyrim back on to check and my deadric bow does 3 more damage than my dragonbone bow, but as base damages the dragonbone does 3 more than the daedric, weird lol.

Wait, so when you upgrade it without self buffs the Dragonbone does less? And raw base damage for Daedric is better?

By the Nine, Bethesda, which is better??

Either way I like Dragonbone better. It's looks are more rustic and laugh at me for saying this, but "realistic". Daedric is nice for a fantasy playthrough though.

The fact that dragonbone doesn't look as ridiculously [censored] as daedric makes them the better choice hands down.
