Now let me start off by saying this in case you didn't read the title. This is not another hate thread on dragon riding. Now lets get started.

Now of course I am a little disappointed that free roam, controllable dragon riding wasn't implemented in this DLC for whatever reasons there were. However I have come to turns with this and am grateful for what Bethesda has given us. No, we cannot fly around the map at our leisure, but, we can still take to the skies and see Solstheim/Skyrim from above and from an entirely new perspective. No, we cannot see all of the land while we do this, only the area from which we mounted the Dragon, but still, isn't this still something amazing?

Can I be the only one who has remotely good things to say about the dragon riding?

I guess really what I'm trying to say is that we should be happy for what Beth has given us, instead of being greedy and always asking for more. Just my thoughts.

You can quick travel while on the dragon, so you can see every location from dragonback that you can quick travel too.

That too. You can choose when to land when you fast travel to a location, so you can see pretty much any part of the map you want from the skies.

You are NOT limited to the cell in which you initially mount the dragon. You can target surf clear across all of Skyrim.
