Is the corpse skeletonizing as you approach it? You are approaching the corpse, right?

No and yes. I'm standing about 2 cm away and nothing happens.

I had one incident where I killed a dragon in a location I had already 'cleared' and I wouldn't harvest the soul. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a mechanic.

That could actually be the reason I don't get them either... Well, whatever the reason it's annoying.

Same thing happened to me for two dragons in a row, the next however did give me a soul so I attributed the problem to a minor glitch.

I guess if you dont have a shout to fill a soul with you might not get one either.

if you kill a dragon somewhere and come back, sometimes another dragon uses the same spawn point, you can only get one soul per dragon spawn point.

I don't think it's possible to get a dragon soul from specific places where dragons spawn more than once. For instance, At Ancient's Ascent near Farkreath.

This is correct I think, because I just killed another dragon in a place I never had done it before and got it's soul.

You still collect dragon souls even if you have no shouts to use them on. I've got four souls spare for when I find more words of power.
I kinda wish you could soul trap them into a soul gem though!

I've killed two dragons in Riverwood and got souls for both :shrug:
