Dragon Stone Bleak Falls Barrow

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:11 am

Guy's I finally killed the Draugr that was supose to have the Dragonstone? ( It took me hours :-) )
I killed him in the water and when I went to "Search" his body the only thing it said that was on it was a sword?
I drug him up on dry land and tried repeatedly to find the Dragonstone on the body but nothing? I went back up to the alter to maybe see if it was hidden somewhere around there and nothing? there was a bottle of potion and a stone (not the Dragon stone?) and whatever I tried I could not pick either one of them up? they would just move around when I tried to grab them? Also there is a chest behind the big piller that has a small chest that you need a lockpick to get into it? and I don't have any lockpicks? broke them all?
Can someone give me a little hint about the Dragonstone? and why I can't pick up the potion or the dead soul stone on the alter?
Thank you

If I recall it right it was in a chest, if you don't have lockpicks just go back to a city and buy some and then go back to the cave to open it.
if objects move when you try to pick them up it might be because you are pressing the button too long.

The Dragonstone is supposed to be looted from the boss... That isn't a good sign.

As far as chests, I don't remember any in that room that required lockpicks.

I hope you have an earlier save. From UESP,
You may find that once you have killed the Draugr boss, he does not register as a container, in which case you cannot retrieve the Dragonstone, and therefore cannot complete the quest. Bethesda technical support recommends reverting to a save prior to you entering the dungeon, raising your level, then returning to the Dragonstone quest. This problem occurs if you are hidden when reading the word on the wall. Reload prior to reading this, and let the Draugr spot you as he comes out, this solves the issue. Simply save on a new file after killing the Draugr Overlord, then load that save. The Overlord will now be "lootable." It is also possible for PC users to use the resurrect command in the console and kill him again. Then you will be able to loot the Dragonstone from his corpse.

That isn't his problem. He said he can search the body, it simply is not there. That said, the solution may work anyway.

Oops, you're right.
Still saving often is always a good idea.

Seriously?

Anyways from what you describe, you haven't fought the boss yet just a Restless Draugr(or something). You still have a way to go.

That dungeon was quite challenging my first time.

Also, you raise a curious point... he may not have gotten all the way through. But I remember the potion and soul gem he is talking about, and I don't remember those two items (together) being anywhere else in the dungeon.

It was hard for me too. And the Restless Draugr was harder than the boss as well, but not hours long.

I'm thinking he's still there because I don't remember a locked chest in the boss room just the boss level chest(which isn't locked). There was a locked chest behind a pillar where the Restless Draugr was though.

There is a locked chest. It's kind of behind the Word Wall, you have to go around. It's tucked around in some rocks, has a Novice lock and usually has jewelry, ingots and a soul gem or two. I didn't find this chest till my 3rd or 4th playthrough of the dungeon, it's hard to spot.

That son of a :swear: chest ! Nevermind if that's the case, but he says behind a pillar not World Wall.

He also said there was water in the area...

You know, now that I think about it, I believe I know the area. A Draugr bursts out of a coffin leaning against the wall, near a small bridge over a stream. There is a chain you have to pull to open a gate to advance past that area. OP, look for hidden switches in your area; you may have farther to go.

Probably. The water part confused me too. But he might confuse water with the flamable oil. Or atleast that's what I thought.

The water I'm talking about is coming from a water fall that eventually runs under the stone bridge semi-circle. it is like a river that is about chest deep that runs to the left of the altar if you are looking up at the altar. I shot the flames at him while he was standing in the river and I was behind the waterfall and finally killed him. The chest is behind the pillar opposite the word wall that needs the lock pick to open it. The only thing I was able to retrieve of the body was the bid two handed sword.

Okay, if you found the word wall you were definitely in the right place. Unfortunately I can't think of any suggestions except to revert to an older save.

If you aren't too far into the game it may be worth starting over completely; there is no guarantee a previous save won't also be glitched. Realistically, I suppose there's no guarantee even if you make a new file.

EDIT : Nevermind. If you don't have a save before entering the final area(there should be at least one autosave) and you are on PC you could use the console commands.

I read that if you kill the final boss anywhere else in the room, besides the small area in front of the word wall, you will have that glitch. Happened to me as well.

Save the game (with the boss laying where he is, in that final room)
Quit Skyrim
Load Skyrim
Load the save game

And you should be able to loot him. Worked for me. The Dragon Stone is most definitely on the boss and not in some chest.

If that doesn't work, re-load your auto save, before you entered the final chamber and try again.

Btw. the final boss is really tough, when you do the quest at later levels. I mean even Dragon Priests seem easier than that guy! LOL

On my 3rd character I played until level 40, before I started the main quest. The final boss didn't really give me much headache then. But OMG on my 2nd character I went in there at level 18, with a dwarven bow and dwarven daggers (none enchanted). I was playing an assassin and neither my daggers nor my arrows scratched him ONE BIT.I thought I could just kite him around the room, but oh was I wrong.

He was pretty much an invicible Draugr Death Scourge Boss. After he wiped the floor with me like 8 times, I was like ok forget that and entered TGM in the console (god mode LOL) Thank Talos I play on PC! hahahaha Even then it took me like 15 minutes to kill him with my silly daggers LOL

This dungeon was one of the first things I did after escaping Helgen. I cleared out Embershard Mine, then headed to Riverwood and did this quest. I didnt have too much trouble with it. But I just recently did the Wolf Queen Awakened quest at level 22, and fought a few of those blasted Draugr Deathlords and they were hard, even with Dawnbreaker. I had to use the fireball tossing soul gem turrets to help me soften one of them up, and picked up a nice Ebony sword. And that final fight? Ugh.

Yea, that's one quest that pays to have a follower with you! You can easily get overwhelmed by Draugrs in there!

:shocking:
That reminds me: there is a super hard Draugr that has a ton of health, and deals a [censored]load of damage if you are not carefull, in the cave where conjurers summon Potema, but I don't remember at which level I got there. This is getting off topic though.

EDIT: Damn ninja'd
