So I'm playing the GBC version of Dragon Quest III (Dragon Warrior) and I am at an empass.

All of the guides tell me to do one thing, but when I do, what it says will happen doesn't happen.

I'm in Baharata Cave, where you find the two lovers who were kidnapped by Kandar. When you get on floor two, all the guides say that the two henchmen will come up to me and ask if I'm there to join the crew, and if I say no, they will attack, furthering the plot.

All of this happens, except they don't say that. They simply block my path, and say this: "What are you doing here? I'll say this as a favor to you. Get lost or get hurt!"

And that's it. Nothing else happens. No matter how many times I enter and come back, or bump back into them, they just keep saying that. That's it. I'm so confused.

Durr, I figured it out. I had to go to Baharata town and talk to an old man that initiated the quest first. I hadn't done that.
