Dragonbone Weapons in Dawnguard

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:42 pm

According to the latest Game Informer, Dawnguard will add Dragonbone weapons. It doesn't specifically say the player will be able to smith these themselves, but I am hoping/thinking that will be the case. As someone who spent a lot of time creating dragonbone armor in previous playthroughs, I think this is great. It would be awesome to have not only armor but weapons created with the dragon bones and scales.

It should be. Otherwise people would be frustrated of milling dungeons over and over again before the dice rolled in such a way that they got a Dragonbone weapon.

I don't see why we couldn't. If we can smith the armor we will most likely beable to smith the weapons.

Interested to how they look. Not too sure about what looks to be a dragonbone arrow and bow in the trailer as the arrow head is pronged. I think we also catch a glimpse of the sword but only for a split second in a finisher.

I hope we can smith them, as ive got a heap of dragon bones just lying around gathering dust.

EDIT: Saying that, it's strange how available the materials will be, especially compared to Deadric weapons. There could easily be a component tht you need to smith them that is rare.

I think todd said something about smithing them, also you cant find dragon armors anywhere in game so smithing makes sense. Im hoping they look better then the armor, i want a dragonbone battleaxe that doesnt look like a flintstones tool

I hope that the weapons will include a rare material (to justify it's high damage), and that there are both dragon scale and dragon bone weapons.

This is actually false, I found dragonscale boots of peerless stamina in a chest once.

I'm not sure if you mean in a set place, or buying from merchants because that would be true, but you can find Dragonbone and Dragonscale armour in leveled chests.

I found an unenchanted dragonbone armor in a chest at a word wall, so they are available without smithing, just very rare.

I also recall finding a helmet with waterbreathing awhile ago.

Not true. Dragon armor is available. In 500+ hours, I found 2 dragon scale helmets and 1 dragon bone armor. So it's there.
That point taken we better be able to make the weapons, otherwise I look like some kinda dova bone hoarder....
