Dragonborn made my wife forget how to walk.

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:16 pm

I'm married to Brelyna Maryon, and ever since downloading Dragonborn she frequently does this weird little shifting back and forth from one foot to the other thing like she's trying to walk. Usually it's whenever I enter a new zone while using her as a follower, or after I fast travel to our home. She'll eventually stop and catch up, but it's really unsettling. I also caught her walking backwards around the house.

Is Dragonborn doing this? I am married to Mjoll and she did the same thing, but I thought mine was being caused by her being kidnapped. I have Hearthfire installed and she was taken to the mine right outside of Riverwood (forget the name). When I rescued her, she got pinned behind the door awkwardly and wouldn't follow, so I took off hoping she would just be at home. When I finally returned to my house, she was there, and she was behaving like you are describing. Luckily, I had another rescue opportunity with her from a Dawnguard quest (I guess Mjoll is prone to being kidnapped, tack that onto the annoying Aerin fellow... these guys need to stay away from my wife :( ) and I "think" she is better now. I haven't been able to confirm it yet, but she ran out of the place where she was kidnapped last fine.

Can anyone else comment on this?

Oh, hm. She was kidnapped(I wanted to fire my housecarl/steward), and I think taken to the same mine, but I didn't notice her behaving this way before. I suppose it's possible that's the cause. But I'm a vampire, and I've wiped out the Dawnguard...so I don't think there's anyone else to kidnap her and fix her. Crap, lol.

I think I saw a fix from someone, where fus ro dah'ing his wife threw her out of the spaz and fixed it? Worth a try.

I tried that but it didn't work on Mjoll. She was cemented in place or something. Still, it's worth a shot.

I got it to work! Maybe you can for Mjoll too, because Brelyna was cemented in place too. For some reason it wouldn't budge her unless she was in combat. And it took a while for her to get in combat...she had a Lurker hitting her but she was just standing there with her dagger drawn, not actually moving or attacking. Once she finally whipped out her staff and summoned an atronach, I tried again and she went flying like she's damned well supposed to, and now she's fine. (Also make sure Companion's Insight is off. xD )

Thanks, guys.

Edit: Spousal abuse used for good. Who'da thunkit?

I have Companion's Insight on, and I can still force-push my follower. Should that not be happening? Could be glitched for me?

Companion's Insight just prevents damage so they don't become hostile, I don't think it covers the push effect. Now, if you knocked your follower off of a cliff...
