Dragonborn Shield Charge fix

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 12:09 am

So as few of you probably are aware, after an undetermined number of hours have passed while playing Skyrim, the Shield Charge perk (Last perk on the Block tree) will no longer continue to work the way it was supposed to. This was particularly bothersome for me being a Shield and Sword/Juggernaut kind of guy.

However, with the ability to reset perks now available to us, I reset my block tree, put all the points back in, and sure enough, the perk works again. I can't say how long it will last, it may just stop working again after another undetermined amount of hours, but at the very least it's fixed, and when it does stop working again, one can simply go back and reset their perks for one measly dragon soul and done, more Shield Charging. Or maybe it fixes it permanently, who knows.

Regardless, I felt this was worth sharing, as it probably takes a bit of pressure off of Bethesda to work on fixing the bug.

(It should still be fixed mind you, but it certainly does not need to take a very high priority any more)

I had a similar incident. After unlocking the two stages of the Dual Flurry perk, my left hand and dual attacks would only animate in super slow motion. Resetting my perks in one-handed fixed the problem. The only downside is that I can't get Dual Flurry again or the glitch comes back :/

This is the main reason why I stopped hating on the respec option. Glitch fix for one of the most useful perks in the game? Yes, please.
