Dragons can pick you up

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:42 am

We knew that dragons could pick up other humanoids; the first time we saw it was in the demo footage, when a dragon grabbed a giant, carried him into the sky and dropped him mid-air.

Some have since then wondered whether the player himself could be grabbed by a dragon during combat. The answer is yes.

Note: The dragon was on the ground when this happened. I do not whether dragons will dive down from the sky to pick up players.

If I remember correctly, a dragon stays on land after taking a certain amount of damage.

Citing a source may get him banned, if you catch my drift.

Picking up people is a dragon finisher.
PC is subjected to finishers from NPC.
Put this two together, it makes sense.

The player did not die after being picked up, but was very close to death.

Then that would mean it is a special attack? Normally the fall damage is quite high, can't imagine the player surviving a drop from the same height as shown on the demo even at full health.

Aha, I should have specified: The dragon was on the ground when it picked up the player, so it did not drop the player down from extreme heights.
I will amend the OP.

Not without a strength attribute, lol.

Joking aside, sounds awesome. Go ahead and pick me up and drop me, as long as the boots of springheel jack are in some coffin somewhere and I can find them all will be fine, lol. Or I'll settle for the etheral shout.

I'm assuming that if this is the case then the ethereal shout will be coming in handy

Let me guess... the devs didn't bother doing this in first-person POV?

I would like to know whether or not if you can attack, while being grabbed.

Maybe throw a dragonbone from your inventory to distract it?
