Is a dragons fire or ice breath considered magic?

Don't know if i should enchant three different armor pieces for all the element resistances, or just my shield with magic resistance, which would be nice since i would'nt have to buy so many soul gems.

Also, does whitbane count as frost, magic, or poison damage.

Dragon Attacks are Shouts, and yes, Elemental Magic Protection works on the particular type.

Magic Protection usually offers much less magnitude than a specific elemental protection, but it does protect from all magic attacks. To this end, I use a Breton Character as they have built in Magic Protection then buff it up with Elemental protection for the Dragons.

Dragon breath is considered Magic. I would enchant with magic resistance instead of elemental. If you have max enchant you can have each item block 20% of magic for a combined 60%. Elemental self enchanting with out potions is around 50% each. With magic resist enchantments just add Lord stone for the magic cap or do the Book of Love quest to hit 75%, just 5% under the cap.

Thank you guys. Also good to know theres a resistance cap so i wouldnt needlessly spend more soul gems.

Counts as magic as said, Dragons also have to spend Magicka to use these abilities.
