Dragons should be the most powerful....

Post » Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:34 am

....but I'm seeing dragon priests and highest ranked draugr are even more stronger.
What you think?

BTW: Is there a way to protect from very powerful draugrs shouts?

Don't stand in front of them waiting to be shouted to pieces. If you doubt how dangerous this is then please feel free to ask the FORMER Jarl of Solitude...;)

Well in terms of HP and the damage a single attack of a dragon can do the are very much on par with the Dragon Priest and Death Overlords. The problem I think you might be having is, what type of dragon you run into is kind of random and when you compare a Dragon, Blood Dragon, or Frost Dragon to a always Level 50 Dragon Priest or the much faster Death Overlords dragons feel week. Dragons are too slow to worry about in a fight.

Dragons aren't smart, they fight badly, ive more difficult killing a Forsworn BriarHeart instead of a Blood Dragon.....

There are levels of dragons.

Dragon-Blood Dragon- Frost Dragon- Elder Dragon- Ancient Dragon- Revered Dragon- Legendary Dragon

Named dragons are usually appropriately scaled; I never see them as particularly powerful. Revered Dragon and Legendary Dragon (start level 62, the later 70 something; I didn't encounter them) can do Drain Vitality shouts; nasty stuff, magic resistance doesn't affect it, travel fast and can be hard to dodge without wards.

Yeah on that I have to agree. They aren't exactly relentless, and you can easily recover while it flies around.

Yeah, they have the power to take you down with but they just don't use it well. I think the devs noticed this which is why they have so much HP compared to other things around their level. With a dragon fight it feels less about rather I can kill it and more about can I kill it before it kills someone else.

The PC players have access to a neat little mod called deadly dragons. Certainly added a bit more hazardous feeling to my non-dragonborn characters master difficulty dead-is-dead without enchanting and alchemy. :D Can't remember how many characters died within 10 minutes of beginning the game. (note: I was using "live another life" in addition to "instant dragons") :P

Those revered and legendary dragons have a specified quest or they are randomly set somewhere......
I dont want to see the wikia cause its full of spoilers

Well Ancient Dragons are stronger than any of them, all dragons are just too passive to be a threat and that's why they are easy but if Bethesda maked them agressive with same attribute it would have looked different.

Sorry I didn't mention that you need Dawnguard for them to spawn. They should spawn randomly after Lvl 62. They should keep you fatigued, drained, and svcking on your constantly bleeding chest wound (in other words, entertained), while you take cover waiting for them to done flying around.

Yeah, exactly, probably beacuse their enourmous .....
Small Body + lesser Hp and Damage surely is more useful.....

When i was level 3 , i didn't even have to heal, just use flames or sparks.

worse trouble fighting a sabre cat at level 10. even blood dragons at that level can't kill me.

When they shout at me most of the time my character stumbles a little, its often when you are moving quickly that they would blow you away

A question:
NPCs rank up with us? I mean, before alduin i killed 4 draugrs overlord and it was very hard(20 levels ago) but now im seeing their even more powerful? why?
I cant kill them alone....

Enemies and guards do scale; I'm not too sure about followers, because they just get in the way when my character is high level.

If you find yourself constantly get frustrated by lvl 40, maybe its time to invest in Enchanting?

You don't have to be massively OP; some warriors builds shine with Enchanting and enhance your ability as well as fun-factor; instead of getting one-shot by random draugr.

I had my first random Legendary at level 50, so you can get them lower than 62 or 70.

Most followers are capped, so they should level with you until some point. J'zargo for example is (I think) the only one uncapped in vanilla. Though I think Dawnguard (which I don't have) introduce more uncapped followers. Well you can see their max level on the UESP wiki.
About the weak dragons, as someone already said, use the mod Deadly Dragon. Not only you can make them really though, HP and armor wise, but they use more shouts/powers. Simply put, they really become a threat.

The fact is that i killed over 1600 enemies with one handed and two handed weapons(100 in both abilities), and now in lvl 40 is very hard to start improve other skills!!
Plus I need too much time for this ability....and the way for improve it looks boring....
Then, I costantly use a Sword in one hand and a restoration power in the other hand....
Another problem is that i hate using forge and I cant have powerful weapons cause ive just 36 on it....
