Dragons. i Will Not Be Ignored?

Post » Wed Feb 06, 2013 9:26 pm

Hello, I have had skyrim since the release and one thing that never changed was the Dragons...they are cowards when it comes to fighting the Dragonborn...i don't know about your guys Dragons but this is how Dragons think in my game...(Dragon: O look the Dragonborn!...i will attack him after i kill this Bear...well the Bear is dead..o look a wolf..well i just kill the wolf then i will go after the Dragonborn...you know killing that wolf sure was tiring...i going to fly away now...bye) Normaly this does not bother me...but it happened 4 times in a row today....i attack a Dragon, get it down to half health and they just fly away...leave...i wish my character could shout "Hello I'm Still Here...Come Back!"

So what i would like to know if others have this problem as well...if you on PS3, PC, 360...I'm not sure if it's a bug or if this is just how Dragons are in the game...it's pretty annoying...and if anyone has any ideas on how i can keep a dragon in a fight please post.

Also please don't post use the Dragonrend shout...Dragonrend works fine at the srart but when a Dragon gets lower then 50% health it seems Dragonrend stops effecting them.

Thank you for reading.

I don't know if it is bug or how dragons are either, but here is my logic. Dragons are made out to be somewhat savage, but still intelligent creatures. Well, if you were an intelligent creature and getting annihilated, would you stay?

It depends for me. When I am desperately trying to get somewhere, and I have been battered and bruised by other enemies, then the Dragons are all high and mighty. However, if I go out with a full head of steam and start smacking the crap out of one, it's just like, maybe next time. So, on second thought, it could just be how they are.

Yes Dragons seek me out all the time as well, what im saying is they don't ever finsih the fight...if a Dragon comes flying by my character...it's the dragon that makes the first attack...but after i hit them a few times it's like (Dragon:Fighting this Dragonborn sure is hard...you know what im going to kill something else...bye) it's not very dragonly to pick a fight then just run away...it's cowardly and annoying...and i want it to stop.

Usually for me, they just fly far over head and roar. When they stir up a gust of wind over my head they are almost always hostile.

Typically, if its just me in a secluded area, then it's a fight to the death. I usually only encounter your scenario in whiterun, or the hot-springs, albeit rarely.

Near mountains too. I think it's because they have trouble landing. So they are just like... I give up on even trying to fight.

I knew I was missing something. Yeah, when up on awkward elevations if I cripple a dragon from flying, there's usually a 10-30% chance they'll crash-land off the mountain, or land on the other side giving them enough time to recover and fly away.

I consider it a win-win anyway, I dislike having to kill them.

Yeah, I wish I could just watch them fly. Not enough time to take in how majestic they can be.

the game decides what's going to happen by random encounters.
You might get a dragon, you might get that thief who makes you hold onto that enchanted item he stole.

but there are 2 types of dragon random encounters.
One is an aggressive dragon, and another is a flyby.

it's not a matter of terrain or anything, it's just a matter of what the random encounter generator rolls for you.

My take on it is that not all dragons are out to kill the people.
Just like how not all encounters with humans are aggressive encounters.
Spoiler
Like the pair of passive dragons in front of the gate to sovngarde
