Im looking to see if there is any way to make your wife wear diffrent clothing than her default. Currently married to Aela the huntress, i can get her to wear diffrent armors but she never equips the clothes i provide for her. Any help would be apreciated.

unfortunately there's no way to do it on a console

I think if you get your pickpocket to 100 you can steal her gear and give her new gear that she must wear

Clothes have no armour rating and a low value, so followers will never choose those over their default armour. If you are on xbox the best way to get Aela to wear what you want is to get the PC version of Skyrim and transfer a save that uses console commands (equipitem 1) to force her to wear what you want. I think followers choose what to wear based on the armour rating that's generated for their own applicable skill level, and then revert to default when dismissed.

reverse pickpocketing doesn't work either... if it did then my nord's wife, Sylgja, wouldn't be wearing miner's clothes xP
