Drugs and Alcohol in Skyrim

Post » Fri Sep 18, 2009 10:51 am

It would be really immersive like if u took some moon sugar and your characters vision would go all crazy and if u drunk a alcoholic beverage and u got a certain noticable effect. How do u guys feel?

I'd rather they focused on more important things.

That would actually be a nice little addition. I think if you take enough Skooma, you should get addicted and start a quest to find a cure for Skooma addiction. :)

Adding addictions would be pretty nice, there could be a gain/loss aspect to alchemy in that if you used addictive ingredients in a potion the effects could be stronger but there would also be the risk of addiction.

While in an ideal world I want to be above this kind of feature, I must admit the Rockstar Games has always given me a laugh with its drugs and alcohol special effects.

I think it would be fun to have something in the game as a novelty. And, honestly, a quest that mirrored the Feldew Addiction quest (Chalice of Reversal quest?) would be cool. I really like what that quest put me through. Especially the first time, when I wasn't as proficient as later at killing Elytra and getting my fix off their corpses.

Gave me an excuse to consume in front of them. Then trip out, kill a guard, sell his stuff and then rot in jail.

Mead is real isnt it? It's a honey wine.

I remember, I got a mod for Oblivion that made the screen fuzzy when drinking. If you drank too much then you'd pass out and wake up it a ditch! It was hilarious. :celebration:

I wouldn't mind dependencies and with drawl from use. I want skooma pipes and other paraphernalia. I remember going to see Caius in Balmora and thinking "Man, this guy is a junkie!" why am I listening to him.

I'm looking forward to seeing drunk nords shambling around in the streets -- and crazed junkies running around stabbing people for some cash. And getting my PC wasted in a bar and go out trippin' on home-brewed potions in the woods :) All this would be nice if they added some animations and visual effects -- it's really no fun when all you get is an intelligence modifier.... Of course I could just go out and get [censored] up in real life, but I feel like my character is missing out on important parts of nord culture :P .... (plus I'd like to roleplay a Khajiit shaman...edit: think tribals in fallout 2)

This. And if you don't have it in say: 5 days or start to find a cure, your character starts to go insane like it does in 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent'. Actually, that would be better for hardcoe mode.

I also like the idea of the screen going fuzzy when you get 'drunk'. Maybe if you drink too much alcohol in quick succesion it happens, I don't want it happening on the first drink though - people drink one and aren't drunk.

The first time my friend played Oblivion he was on acid. Imagine running around in a dark forest in Oblivion with the wind blowing...a storm is brewing...on acid...

But yes please continue the Moon Sugar and Skooma Adventure! I loved in Morrowind, that guy from the blades had a skooma pipe under his bed.

If you've got a tab or two, I suggest going out in the real woods or something exciting. Tried playing Oblivion on mushrooms once -- Waste of shrooms, imo. Yeah it was fun and all, but why not just sit and stare at a wall for two hours or skip around in the park instead? .... I mean, a friend of mine did this. :whistling:

But if my character could do it too, on the other hand... that would be something. Wouldn't cry if it wasn't implemented though. There's one thing we need though: animations for smoking cigarettes / pipes. Tobacco.
