Dual wielding question?

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 7:08 pm

When I dual wield I notice that I increase one handed weapon skill so is dual wielding considered a one hand weapon? I want to know because I just started again as a Nord and don't want to waste my perks. also, I heard dual wielding isn't that good so should I just get a two hand weapon instead? Thanks!

Curious of this myself.

I heard dual wielding isn't that good so should I just get a two hand weapon instead? Thanks!

Why not get both? Spec into 2h mace for example to take out heavily armored targets, and use dual wielding to take out unarmored targets.

Dual wielding uses two 1 handed weapons, so it uses the 1 handed skill tree. The rightmost branch of it effects only dual wielding, but any perk in the tree will help you out. I'd recommend going for that branch, and damage increases, first though. I'm kicking @#$ with it at level 35 right now, though I've also invested a lot in smithing and enchanting.

Dual wielding is great.

Combine dual daggers/swords + dual flurry perk + elemental fury shout and you got a lightning fast attack speed.

I could take dragons down with dual daggers in less than 5 seconds by level 13.

Which is better the one handed tree or the two handed tree? I was leaning towards something 2 handed because nords get a bonus in it.

edit: btw I'm about to play on master for this playthrough.

I just made an Argonion dual sword warrior. Dual wielding is considered a one hand weapon. I'm not totally sure whether or not it's good, but I like that there is a perk that lets you attack faster while dual wielding.

Well, here's my opinion.

I've found that 2handed weapons are simply BEAST.

You're able to hit multiple foes with a single swing and do MASSIVE damage with every hit.

You can also block, although it doesnt really count for much unless you're using a shield.

I've found that I lose stamina MUCH quicker while dual wielding mostly because I have no other choice but to spam the smash combo.

Dual wielding looks freaking AWESOME.

You can't block, and you won't really be doing much damage if you don't have the dual weapon speed perk maxed.

Final thoughts: I die alot when I dual wield, dunno if its cause I dont play it right or what, but whenever I'm dual wielding I do it for the looks.
I have a character who uses a 2handed sword and I've had to turn the difficulty up because I was just plowing through everything.

Nice tip!

Thanks guys, I've decided to use a little bit of both, I just hope using both doesn't take up too much perks. I want to try s few other trees as well.
