No dungeon or torture room options?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:00 pm

But I wanted a place where I could keep Thalmor, hurt them, deprive them of food, prevent them from sleeping, drive them insane, Make it where all they can do is say "hail Talos," and kick them out to wander Skyrim and show the other Thalmor that there is a price for religious persecution. The price is higher than they want to pay.

Not sure how impressed the Jarls would be if they found out the land they recently sold to someone was being used to torture the very people threatening to destroy Skyrim. Of course, it could be a secret (for example, a series of secret tunnels under your house which only the house owner would know about) but it would feel VERY strange having a kid in one part of the house and a screaming, tortured Thalmor agent just under him.

A) nobody likes the Thalmor. Not even most High Elves.
B )Children should be taught that some things are necessary and good. Some people need to be subjected to torment for the things they have done. The Thalmor are at the top of that list. Now, I'm not saying children should be taught the art of inflicting pain, but they should know that some times it has to be done.
C) The tortures would be a message to the Thalmor that if they don't stop their religious persecution than whoever it is wont stop hurting them as a hobby.

There are two things I wouldn't want in my home. One is a torture chamber (if my kids are misbehaving, I'll send them to their room, put them in time-out, give them extra chores).

The other is a live Thalmor (a stuffed one, maybe, right next to my stuffed Ulfric). Too dangerous. It would be like trying to keep a pet snow bear, only the Thalmor has magic.

Somehow I don't think that was what they were going for when they laid out the DLC plans.

Yeah you can still scream without a tongue, you just wouldn't be able to from words properly.

None of this should matter as there is no way to get some Thalmor to randomly follow you into your Hearthfire house, let alone your cellar.

QUOTE: Yeah you can still scream without a tongue, you just wouldn't be able to from words properly.

Right. And I think the point of the exercise was to make them say, "hail Talos."

"Aaaaaauuuuurrrrggggghhhhhhh" wouldn't be nearly as satisfying.

"Hawuh Aawos". You could always make him incise the words on his flesh, that would really teach him and leave a permanent reminder.

From what I've seen in videos the customization is extremely slim. You can only ever make a "homely home".

My dead thrall does that all the time already.

You people... disgust me. For the actually officers? maybe. But the standard rank and file soldiers are just FOLLOWING orders(unlike the officers, who do it out of spite and cruelty), they should be commended for following there orders till the end.

Dawnstar sanctuary is basically a player home that caters to the evil characters. Volikhar castle too.
Obviously they were aiming for a family theme.

I don't like how the Hearthfire options appear to only be for morally righteous and upstanding citizens. I miss my Vile Lair

I think it would give the house a nice ambiance so long as it's one of those wretched elves.

Just because I want to build my own home doesn't mean I want a husband or family. None of this fits my character, I still have to figure out why my character has a husband besides only for pure game play bonuses.

Neither do I. I wanted to build a small cabin in the mountainside with tunnels into caves where I could conduct... research undisturbed.

Man I need to get a PC.

Wicked people have families too. Unless we can move our adopted children to those locations it doesn't really do me a lot of good.

I also want to give my kids Lycanthropy, but I doubt Bethesda saw fit to allow us to do that.

I suppose after all that, they could go back to their lives for a while. Then after little while they would go back to the Dovahkiin's lair, and while walking down the hall the would get an arrow to the back of the head. Their last thought would be "I love Talos!"

But then they would have called the DLC "4E 201"
