Dunmer hate the Empire

I was wondering where it is stated that the Dunmer hate the Empire since some Imperial milk-drinkers still believe Morrowind is an imperial province.

Morrowind is conquered by the argonians who are independent from the Empire. there are only 4 provinces still controlled by the Empire.

The Empire kinda left Solsthiem a loong time ago in ashes .. literally .. soo naturally all the dunmer there are gonna be hating on the empire. i dont quite know what ur asking..

He's asking if there's any proof that the Dunmer are openly hostile to the Empire in Skyrim. Since there's some evidence that Morrowind is still an Imperial province.

Morrowind is conquered by the argonians who are independent from the empire

Don't think so. The southern bit of Morrowind was raided by Argonians, but they fled back to Argonia instead of occupying the land. Unless something in Dragonborn states otherwise.

As far as I'm aware no. I'm on the PC, meaning I haven't played Dragonborn and don't know much of the lore introduced, but I'm pretty sure the Argonian raids were just payback for the slavery that happened a while back, and then they left. Isn't there something in Dragonborn that states that Morrowind is well on its way to being rebuilt, and that the Houses still have power?

ANYWAY, I'm interested in warp's OP, too, so here's hoping we get a good response. If there is anything in Dragonborn.

Adril Arano complains about the Empire abandoning them during the Red Year/Oblivion Crisis. Nothing says Morrowind seceded, but it seems like the Empire may have just left.

I lol'd at the fact that I saw practically most of the Imperial supporters watching this thread. Guess they couldn't handle somebody criticizing their Empire.

I honestly think you're taking this way too seriously, warp. Am I an Empire Supporter? Sure. Do I really care one way or the other? Nope. I'm more interested in the game's lore than anything else.

Doesn't matter what we think, anyway. Bethesda calls the shots.

Morrowind was abandoned by the Empire when the Dunmer needed the Empire's protection the most so they are resentful towards the Empire and realized they only need the armies of the great houses to be a force to be reckoned with.

Legit reason why a Dunmer would join the Stormcloaks as well...hate stemming from that betrayal, ya' know.

Everything I've found seems to suggest most Dunmer just don't care about the Empire...or anything else that does not directly affect Morrowind.

Seems to me that while it seems the empire is certainly not involved at the moment they may plan on coming back one they build up their power again. Doesn't mean it will happen but it's possible in some ways bethesda left it vague so they can have options. Seems to be their continuing habit.

Yeah, the impression seemed to be that Morrowind wasn't an Imperial province anymore.

I'm 99.9% sure that Morrowind is still an Imperial Province, and that's as sure as I can get without a dev confirming it.
Nothing in the game says otherwise.

Fact is, ofcourse, no one clearly states that Morrowind isn′t an Imperial Province anymore.
But everything is suggesting(!) that the claim of the Empire on Morrowind is nothing but that: A Claim without any real power projection capability.
And with House Redoran now building up a proper standing army, I don′t see the Empire conquering Morrowind back any time soon while the Thalmor are still active. I mean, the Empire couldn′t conquer Morrowind by force when it was at full strength.

Redoran is the most prominent great house, be we're not sure if everybody else feels as bad about the Empire as Redoran does. We only get their perspective. Hlaalu is still somehow tied to them..

Going back to Morrowind (the game) it was very clear that the Dunmer hated the Empire. They were outlanders (which right there is enough for a Dunmer to despise someone) who had conquered them, humbled them, and were systematically exploiting all of their natural resources.

As far as current day goes, there is no evidence that the Empire has any hold over Morrowind. They appear to have completely abandoned it either before or during the Red Year. The Argonians cutting a bloody swath through the place and sacking its capital of Mournhold is ample evidence of the Impies being gone from the southern half of the country. While the northern half was turned into a smoking crater, so any Imps there were killed. Given that the Argonians abandoned even the southern part, and the Dunmer themselves want nothing but to get out, there must not even anything left of the place worth conquering.

The actions of House Redoran completely disagree with this, as well as the multiple Dunmer wishing to return to Morrowind in Skyrim.
