Okay so I realize I'll have to live with the very not-dunmer-like voices beth decided to go with for the dunmer npcs. However it still bothers me that my dunmer male sounds like a woman when screaming. So, I was wondering if anyone know of a mod that changes the various grunts your dunmer character makes to something along the lines of the good ol' morrowind dunmers? I imagine even using the soundfiles from Morrowind could be possible *shrug*

I wondered on this some time ago, if it would be possible to somehow run all the Dunmer voices through some program to roughen it a bit, but I realized that would sound really bad when I thought some more on it.
I think we're stuck with these, unless someone record voices themself and replace all the existing ones.

This is the second time bethesda has first shown a demo video with proper dunmer voices, getting our hopes up, and then turned around to make them completely different in the game itself

You can use soundfiles from Morrowind all you want personally for your own use, but you can't redistribute them without Bethesda's permission. PM Gstaff perhaps if you want to make a Dunmer Morrowind voice mod?

I am too disappointed by the brittish/australian Dunmer voice. I also don't like that my Dunmer doesn't seem to have his own sound files for getting hurt, shouting, etc. Quite disappointing that too.

Well I personally have never even opened the modding tool So i won't be doing it, was just throwing the idea out there. *sigh* gone are the days of proper dunmers... atleast we look like dunmers now... and not blue grey humans

Interestingly, there's still at least one voice file in there (for a certain Jarl's steward in Winterhold) which has the Morrowind-styled voice.

I've been thinking of this one, and have been sorely tempted to do it. There's only one problem, and it is a huge one - quality. Both of acting and (more importantly) the recording itself. If you're going to replace Bethesda-recorded voice files, you'd damned well better make sure they're at least as good in technical quality - and herein lies the rub.

Someone needs to find the actors who voiced Morrowind's Dunmer and pay them lots of money to come and serenade us with gravelly awesomeness.

Well, for the "screaming" sounds alone, you could replace the male Dunmer combat sounds with those of another race. I don't know which would be best suited, but there's a few to choose from. In fact I think I've seen a mod that does this. I'll have a look.

perhaps, but it still wouldnt be a "dunmer scream" sure it would atleast be male sounding.. but man do I miss the dunmer yelps from morrowind..

The Dunmer males in Morrowind was voiced by http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1198561/ and http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1200656/ did females.
They have both been in some major titles. So, anyone got deep pockets filled with money or are good at taking hostages?
