Dwarven Armor makes me feel like a Hero

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:18 pm

I mastered smithing (100 skill with every single perk). I've built dozens and dozens of every type of armor there is, but Dwarven Armor design is just so bad ass. No fluff or unnecessary curves, just angular and effecient.
I like the glass armor too, ebony bow, all the Dwarven weapons, Light Dragon Armor. What made it even more fun is I'm starting to excavate the Markath ruins.

Oh and btw, this game is pretty much flawless in terms of story, design, game mechanics, role playing. I kind of wonder how spoiled you have to be to not appreciate the effort that went into this game. (sorry had to throw that in for good measure because of all the negative posts)

It would be my favourite ever game if it didn't have the frame rate issues (PS3 only as far as I can tell)

I can accept the magicka regen and weak destruction, because it just changes the way you play the game - no bad thing really.

But my game is becoming totally unplayable which is such a shame.

Otherwise you're right, the game is extraordinary

I haven't stepped up from the full-sleeved fur armor yet.. something about the immense cold my character probably feels with all that leg and arm exposed in the other sets.

Edit: I'm spoiled, so i'll say something too. The day the flying dropped items/flubber bouncing items is fixed is the day I will cry on the floor with happiness. I wan't to set up my camps/caves/homes without fear of a bucket sized indent in my head.

Yeah I thought it look Flashy.

Not neccesarily in a Bad way but I thought it contrasted too much with the Metal/Fur Armors.

You're just this golden knight stomping around in those big Dwemer Boots.

Too each is own, it started too grow on me but I prefer the armor I have now, looks like a cross between a Samurai and a Roman Legionnaire.

I only wore Dwarven Armor after I won the war with the mighty Storm Cloaks and freed the Nords. I fought the war with just iron and steel armor/weapons. But since the war was fairly over and as the war hero, I felt it necessary to upgrade my status. I feel like I'm at a cross between being Hector and in the movie Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

There's a good book on Dwarven history by the ruins.

But honestly I keep switching armors based on my mood, its just that (Legendary) Armor with Smithing makes most Heavy Armor perks unnessary.

Cool.

Im still doing quests from whiterun but am already lvl 21 due to having focused on smithing.
I have 91 at the moment but will get to 100 fast.

I play an Orc, heavy armor, axe dual wielding character. And I personally find the Dwarfen armor much too shiny, but very good looking.
So far, I find the Orc armor to be the most brutal armor. I love it, it fits the orc race so well.

I wonder if the light or heavy dragon armor look the same, I have a feeling they might.

Im yet to create ebony or daedric stuff for myself since Im simply put, not that far into the game yet.
Besides, due to my high smithing, my steel skyforge axes have same damage, when sharpened, as daedric base weapons.
So they hit hard (2 shotted a dragon with double flurry powerattacks, at lvl 20, using berserker rage yesterday).

I dislike how the stronger heavy armors have that sort of "evil" look to them.

This is fine for certain characters, but it kinda pushes me to make "good" characters use light armor.

Not cool.

"Dwarven Armor makes me feel like a Hero"
The same can be said for when it comes to Steel Plate Armor(which have like 20 less armor at 80 skill and 5/5 Juggernaut than Ebony so it is still useful). Glad you found "Your Armor" :)

Same, Hopefully they release a lot of differant armors in the future that lead towards a more benevolent form.

Like the Crusader armor in Oblivion.

Can't emphasize this enough, why is Daedric armor the best when dragon armor requires more smithing to make? While the Daedric armor looks quite badass in it's own right, it just doesn't fit my character at all but I don't really want to compromise because of the stats :/

Dragon armor is even more aggressive looking than Orcish. Daidric armor will make you look pure evil, which is why I kind of don't like it.

I sometimes mix and match armor. Like I'll wear all Dwarven armor, or I will mix light Dragon Armor with Glass or Ebony stuff.

I love the dwarven armour too! It looks so good I'm using a full set of it even though I've got slightly better kit available!

Its definitely strange how there doesn't seem to be any armour which fits a Knight/Paladin type class which to be honest, is a pretty popular roleplaying choice. I think in the end I'd rather compromise than wear clearly evil armour, it goes against the character. But I'm only a few hours into the game, and my main goal at the moment is to have a helm without horns on it.....

I'm not really a fan of the more ornate looking armours, as much as possible I go for the plain looking ones, and improve them at a workbench. I don't want my character to move too far from his gritty roots; he's more anti-hero than hero.

Currently using Steel plate, only I don't know where to find the gloves/boots/helm?

Anyone have suggestions?

It won't let me forge them...
