I've noticed something I haven't seen before in any of the videos or info that was released about the game. In the new PvP trailer, at around 35 second, you can see one of the characters fire off a dwemer device. I've tried pausing at the right time to see what it is, and I think it is a crossbow. I'm sure you all noticed it as well. So what do you thing of this? Crossbows confirmed? I certainly love it, because it is one of my favorite weapons.

It is an ability from the fighter's guild line called silver bolts. Was confirmed on twitter.

Yeah I noticed that too , and also double checked because the way it was fired looked like it was a gun and that would be awfull, but indeed it's a dwemer crossbow, which confirms that crossbow are propobly present

Okay so it's like a single use ability that makes that crossbow pop up? Kinda lame if you ask me, but better than nothing.

I had hoped it would give you the option to use a crossbow at like a 3% ranged increase and run off the bow skill line and abilities. That is a little depressing if it is just a bad toggle.

Hopefully they'll add a crossbow later in patches, I really need one, oh well a Dunmer can always hope.

You're chopping your enemies with a huge axe, you look over your shoulder and see an enemy raising his weapon, ready to chop you to pieces.

With your quick reflexes you pull out a miniature crossbow from your sleeve and shoot him straight between the eyes.

Or something like that...

I would like it as an weapon, give more variation to ranged, an crossbow handles different.

The bad part about it is that the crossbow basically pops up out of thin air when you use it. And it disappeares after the ability has been used. You cannot see it when you are just walking around. Reminds me alot of the "scattergun" abilities from swtor's scoundrel class.

Whew, I thought it was a gun. It would depress me if guns were introduced into ESO. Dunno why Crossbows aren't in, though.

I want a gigantic crossbow, which I will nickname "Big Bessy" and shoot it thru ppls faces!!

Actually, there were HUGE Dwemer Crossbows outside of Dwemer Ruins in TES III: Morrowind, they were basically ballista.
