Dynamic Crosshair, possible?

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 11:29 am

Is it possible to make a mod that enables/disables the crosshair whenever needed?

I mean, if you're using melee weapons, or is not in combat stance, then you don't really need the crosshair. Crosshair is turned off

But when you have your bow or spells on the ready, then you'll need the crosshair for better aim. Crosshair is turned on

I've experienced the crosshair automatically being turned on when I was trying to dualcast Conjure Dremora Lord, this makes me think that such a system is already in-game, witing for us to exploit them

There was a mod for FO: NV that did this. When you equipped your weapon the crosshair would appear.

There was a mod in Oblivion that did this. Seeing as we can change the crosshair on sneak, and there's an "in combat" trigger (music change, etc means they have it scripted) we could disable it easily outside of combat, or have it enabled only when the weapon is drawn, etc. Shouldn't be too hard.

Looks like it's already doable. Many thanks. I feel that it's quite over the top installing the whole mod just to get one tiny feature (although I can disable 'em), but I guess no pain no gain ;)
