Easier way to trap souls?

Is there an easier way to trap souls other than the main soul trap spell?

My character is not a conjurer and spending two perks on the conjuration tree just for one spell seems kind of a waste, especially as spread thin as it is for a Spellsword already. Of course, when battle is nearly finished I rarely have enough magicka to spend on that spell.

If I have to bite the bullet and use two levels of perks for one spell then I guess I can, but if a staff exists or another way is accessible then I would like to know.

I believe there is at least one enchanted weapon that can capture souls. Don't remember what it is though.

Yeah, I've come across a number of non-unique (so I'm guessing random?) soul trapping weapons. Destroyed one for the enchantment, and put it on one of my war axes. You can get away with lowering the enchantment effect duration to almost the minimum too, lowering it to 2 seconds vs. the usual 7 or 10 seconds you see on the looted ones gets me like 1000+ hits before I need to recharge. Granted, it only helps if you're dual wielding, or have the enchantment perk that lets you double enchant stuff.

There are several, if not dozens. I have a pretty nice soul trapping bow, works perfectly for my build.

Okay, good to know. I haven't run across any yet and the only method seemed to be the spell. I didn't know whether or not they pulled it as an enchantment. Looks like the good old switch'n'trap with a dinky soul trap weapon will still work.

Black soul gems + random wanderers also still works, if you can stomach it... If not, bandits. Remains one of the easiest ways to get grand souls.

My character casts Soul Trap with no perks in Conjuration at all. You don't need to perk the skill to cast basic Soul Trap.

Can't get the spoiler to work, so until I can, I won't post my response.

Well I didn't hit edit fast enough. As below attests. And thanks for the info. :)

spoiler

The Jarl of Whiterun gives you such a weapon after killing the dragon.

It has a random enchant. For my orc, it was drain stamina, if I recall correctly.
