The perks in luck and stealing. Also sell purified water and drugs.

I'm rolling in the caps at the moment. It's a little rough on the skin, but it's a good depilatory.

My character does not spend caps. She barters for everything, usually using unused ammo. She realized early on which ammo she tended to use most and traded out the ones that were just piling up. Since ammo weighs nothing, she can carry it around all the time. She also uses pre-war money for the same reason. True, pre-war money can be broken down into cloth but there are plenty of other cloth sources. Better to carry around the weightless money and use it for what it was intended -- currency.

When she goes on a buying trip (basically just making the rounds to vendors), she piles herself up with weapons and armor to use for trade. Mostly pipe weapons and leather. Clears out some of her stuff and gets her stuff she can actually use. Hmmmm she *just* got the perk to fast-travel while over-encumbered yesterday -- she could get rid of a LOT of stuff now...

Anyway, point is, for me, becoming a chem dealer was unappealing (she does not and will not use any chems, unless stimpaks count as chems). And for some reason, she just never did the water purifier.

Get the perk. I just FINALLY let myself get it last night and almost EVERY locker and filing cabinet I searched had no less than 10 caps in them.

The perk helps and selling drugs is gold!

Be sure to also take some 'berry mentats'; think that's the one, to increase your barter skills when selling crap.

What vendors are you selling stuff to? I've yet to see one have more than 300 caps on hand. I have trunks stuffed full of armor and weapons because no one has enough caps to buy anything. I can't seem to ever have more than 1500-2000 caps.

You actually trade, not buy.

Drugs are very profitable, I make boatloads of Jet and do well on that little scam. Certain foods sell very well and I have a thing for Mirelurk eggs. Water from purifiers is easy and it's up to you how much effort you put into that. I also make quite a bit selling Legendary weapons, they do pile up on Survival.

Build as many of the big generators and industrial water purifiers as you can fit at Sanctuary. A supply of purified water will be deposited into your workbench every day which can be sold. Buying/selling prices are based on charisma. So put on your best charisma boosting outfit, and go around to the various vendors. If you have the Local Leader perk maxed out you'll be able to invest an additional 500 caps with vendors, which is a very worthwhile investment in the long run. They'll always have 500 more caps than they have now, which means you can sell them a lot more stuff. You can also pop some graqe mentats for an additional +5 charisma for 8 minutes or so to get even better buying/selling prices.

I have around 20 of the industrial purifiers at Sanctuary, and I currently have around 90,000 caps. It's more than I know what to do with.

This whole process is simplified by maxing out the Local Leader and Cap Collector perks. This lets you simply build your own vendor stands at your settlements so you can just go sell your stuff right there. Invest an additional 500 caps with them and you likely won't even have to leave Sanctuary to unload all of your water. There's very little effort involved in this aside from initially building all of it, and later making the rounds to sell the water.

Are you being serious or just joking cause I have only found one slaver who is only interested in one person (maybe 2 others if you play it right i hear). My evil side needs to know.

Aside from a couple instances where you can decide whether or not to sell a particular person in a scripted quest line, I don't believe there's any slave trading in Fallout 4.

Item dupe a weapon with the dog till you can get the Big Boy from diamond city...then dupe that a hundred times (or a few times each time you visit a vendor)...early on its worth around 1500..later with perks and CHA boosts around 3000+...since you don't mind using exploits/bugs..

Exploiting the Dogmeat item duplication glitch is honestly more work than just farming water in my opinion. Instead of spending a ton of time duplicating items with Dogmeat I can just build all of the water purifiers, go out and do some quests, come back and have a ton of water waiting for me that I can sell for like 4000 caps. Then I can repeat this as many times as needed.

There are literally dozens of easy ways to get caps. I don't know which are technically better than others but just selling the stuff you won't use is by far the easiest. Don't hoard hundreds of chems you don't need, sell a dozen of those fatboys and gatlings you have lying around.

Two ranks of the scrounger perk will keep you in caps. All that .38 ammo you'll never use beyond level 15 is worth a minimum of 1 cap. Then there is .50 ammo you'll also find in amounts far exceeding what you can possibly use is worth 2 caps per bullet when selling.

I use the dog meat glitch to replicate expensive items that I can then trade for whatever I want to buy. I haven't found anything more efficient (not to say there isn't anything better, just that I haven't found it if there is).

Yea probably...I've never farmed water for caps, and haven't duped since my first playthrough...I just barter for everything I need, sell stuff I don't and on my second playthrough have around 15000 caps at lvl 45, and haven't really come across anything that I need caps for, except maybe ammo if I don't have anything to barter with...it would be different if you could buy expensive implants like NV had..

Maybe so, but you can make more money faster using the dogmeat glitch. I keep a big boy on hand and whenever I need to afford something I just replicate that until I can afford it. Every time I replicate the big boy I get around 2800 caps, if I have the timing right I can get about 25k a minute.

Every time I clear out the water supply from my workbench I make around 6000 caps. And it gets replenished very quickly. I'm sitting on about 90,000 caps right now, which is more than I could ever need in the game. It might be possible to make more with the duplication glitch, but there are legitimate ways to get as many caps as you could ever use without putting any real effort into it. To each their own, but the duplication glitch seems like way more work to me.

I just get the water out, turn around and go to my vendors at Sanctuary, sell all my water, and walk away 6000 caps richer. I never even have to do this out of necessity anymore. If I want something I have enough caps to just buy it outright. I just clear my water supply out whenever I realize that I haven't in a while.

If you're going to exploit glitches to get caps, you're better off just using a console command to add a bunch of caps to your inventory.

Water purifiers is sooo easy and good, especially if you, like me, don't use guns and don't mod a lot due to that.

Ofc I also make Jet, but i don't bother with buying fertilizer except for shipments.

Why would you need tens of thousands of caps?

Sure it's cool to look at, but utterly useelss.
