Skyrim has a lot of cool stuff, and with that cool stuff comes a hefty price tag. So many of my friends are lacking the golden touch achievment/trophy, and please keep in mind my platform is Xbox 360. So for this achievment you can do three things:
-Hoard all the money you find and be stingy
-Make healing potions*
-Use the restoration loop and make insanely expensive anything
*Healin potions with giants toe and wheat+high speech and alchemy, usually sell for a lot.

Anyway if you are using the second and third options I would highly recommend grabbing the investor perk and master trader as they will increase merchants gold everywhere, and afterward invest I the riverwood trader as he is the richest merchant in the game (10,000+) and selling your expensive junk that you don't need and waiting 2 days in game and rinse and repeat until you have achieved the desired or needed amount of gold!!
- also can be done by selling anything just doing the fastest way I found
