Eat and drink while gaming

Post » Sun Aug 12, 2012 1:04 pm

Who else can't help eating and drinking during the gaming sessions? I mean come on, I should be immersed into the story and gameplay and forget about everything else. That's why I play with headphones and lights off. And yet there's always a plate of something around be it cookies or [censored] chips or even worse [censored] like Pepsi for Christ sake. My jaw can't drop when I press a button and something awesome happens because it's [censored] busy all the time.

I never eat while I'm gaming. I usually keep a strict "no food in my room" policy as well, since I hate mess. I don't really play for longer periods of time, so I never actually get hungry. I do tend to get thirsty though, and I always keep my coffee close to me.

I can be without eating when playing games.

In fact, I usually pause at some point because I'm starving.

I do, sometimes, put a coke next to me when gaming. However, more often than not will it become warm and sticky before I drink it, which makes me throw it away.

I don't. I'll stop to drink water or leave to get something else. Too immersed when at the computer.

I tend to have a bottle of lemon water by my computer. Sometimes dessert.

I don't eat anything when I game namely because my hands get dirty, greasy, sticky etc. However on occasion, I will eat with my face if the situation calls for such desperate action. Drinks are the exception though, I always have a drink readily available when I game whether it be a Doctor Pepper, water or chocolate milk. If I do eat while gaming, it's usually when playing single player games like ME2, I rarely eat when I'm playing competitive multiplayer.

I'm an inveterate nibbler. Or an invertebrate one, I always get the two confused. Usually snacky things: dry-roasted peanuts, Peperamis, Ryvita with cheese or pate (crumbs galore!), that sort of thing; and tea, pints of freshly-brewed coffee (I mean proper 20 floz pints), "ugly juice" (I think it's pear and kiwi) and so on.

Seriously though, I usually drink water while playing my games. Or if I'm feeling real frisky I'll go get a mountain dew and indulge myself

Drink Irn-Bru all the time while gaming, I always have food nearby or run for some during loading screens or if I'm just hungry.

I usually have a cup of coffee around while playing, strangely more often so if I'm playing a strategy game.

I'll sometimes drink something, but if I'm going to eat I quit and do something else.

Does depend on what kind of game but if it is something relaxing like Oblivion I might have some snacks. I chain drink tea and diet Pepsi. But as for eating things I usually will have some toast or sugary sweets. I don't to have anything too crumbly because of the risk of it going everywhere and I always seem to be a messy eater  . Cleaning up is a hassle!

Sometimes I have a drink, but never food. It's too distracting to eat and game at the same time, so I watch a video or something instead if I feel like eating.

I can't eat while gaming, seems to be impossible for me. Water, fruit smoothies and other various fruit drinks are my beverages of choice.

Technically you can't eat and game at the same time, since it's not like I can hit keys and mouse-click in combat while holding a sandwich. But you can chew while gaming, and I sometimes do that. So I don't have any rule about no food at the computer desk....but I don't eat often while gaming, because that's usually a recipe for spilling food all over your keyboard. Sometimes I'll have a bowl of cereal or finger-food while checking auction house sales in a game, or something else that doesn't require full-attention.

But in terms of heavy-RPG's or something .... typically I'll forget to eat for hours, outside of maybe having a slice of lunchmeat or yogurt when I go to the kitchen to grab another caffeine beverage. I call times like those the "video game diet."
