eBay

I just used eBay for the first time ever. Feel like a cheat as I have an app with enough info and features that I bid only once, 4 seconds before the auction ended, and won by 20 pence. Naughty. But it was a proper buzz! A bit concerned as I could get addicted to this. I can blame the fiancée for wanting me to win her a fascinator (no, I don't know what one is either) for her mum. Oh well.

Have any of you made any epic deals on eBay, or sold something for far more than it's worth? Any advice to a potentially addicted newby?

Always bid your maximum in the last 10 seconds...

I have gotten a few games for free due to the seller sending the wrong game... and the [censored] that got mine kept it... I think it was FFIII for snes.

Another tip avoid people who sell collectibles that seem to be selling videogames for the first time :P I remember getting Lunar II in mint condition with one of the discs badly damaged with circular scratches.

I've had only one bum deal but I've had some good ones too.

Good Deals I got:
Trixie before the favorites collection gift set came out and now I have two.
She-Ra's Crystal Castle Playset---I'm a fan of She-Ra so I desighted to buy this and it's pretty much there I just don't have a fireplace, chandalier and something for the bed but other then that it's mostly all there.

Bum Deal:
I ordered the Art Asylum Enterprise-E and got ripped off I didn't even get my order and I lost money on it, I tried to file a claim but for some reason I couldn't. For awhile this caused me to cease use of Ebay for awhile but I've started getting a little luckier with ordering stuff from there so I'll only order stuff there if I can't find what I want on Amazon.

I used to bid a lot many years ago when Ebay was still kind of new. I was buying a lot of Chinese antique furniture to resell them to potential clients. I won many at the last buzzer, and lost a few by the same medicine. Now, I haven't used Ebay in years. One thing that has put me off about Ebay, is that almost all the sellers required Paypal/credit card. I used to buy my stuff with money orders/personal check. Another thing that put me off was, that the Chinese antiques I used to buy, no longer were "unique". Almost all the furniture looked like they came from the same woodwork, and they are more expensive now than before.
