Just like the title says. After testing my ebony retextures, to make sure they weren't causing the problem (I removed the folder and restarted the game), I googled it. Apparantly it only happens to the ebony shield and only if your character is a vampire. Now I haven't tested other shields, because I haven't been using them, but this is what I can confirm. My character is a vampire. I tested with my other non vampire character and the shield shows up for him. I'm not sure how this is happening at all, because being a vampire shouldn't affect the armor at all. I've reinstalled this game twice now, and that did nothing. I'm just posting this hoping it gets the attention of somone, because I'd like to see this fixed in a patch or something, unless somebody has found a solution.

Another problem I've noticed with the ebony armor, is that I get this terrible black line from between my character's neck and the armor. I'd like to see that get fixed as well.

Beyond that, that armor is my favorite next to the daedric and dragonbone. :3

Odd really? if only you're a vamp? Does it matter what level vampirism? I forgot to check myself after clensing a vamp den an contracted it wearing Ebony.. Didnt notice it missing.

On the neck line, I will look @ my char in it.

Tho on armor choices. Go Daedric, it is by far strongest heavy armor, above dragon armor.

I did for my other character. For this character I just want him to wear the ebony armor because I like him in it. :3
And regarding level of vampirism, it didn't seem to be a factor, because I'd go to starved and it still wouldn't show up. Was equipped, and I could block, but it was like the model disappeared. I could drop it too, and it would show up. It was also in the menu fine. Just wearing it third or first person, it doesn't show up.
I'd upload an image of the black line I get and the invisible shield, but I'm new here, and don't really know how to.

Could you see it first person and not third? Curious. I am about to load up an older save to look if I can

It didn't show up in either first person or third person for my vampire, but showed up fine for my other character.

Having the same issue, and it frustrates me to no end! Might have to console cmd myself out of being a vampire, even though I was initially pretty stoked about being one. Also good to know that the black line I'm getting is a related issue.

I also tested this on the same file by giving the shield to lydia, and it showed up for her but not for me. Forgot to mention earlier but the black line on the ebony armor applies to my male characters. Of the nord race at that. Haven't tried other races with it yet. If anyone else has, feel free to say so.

Mine also nord male. Would be interesting to see if the Vamp/Ebonyshield glitch applies to other races/genders.

On a sidenote I haven't been able to get Vampire Sight to work either - I "equip" it but nothing happens.

Applies to Dunmer male too. Guess it's applicable for all the races. Very annoying, I thought my shield bugged out and couldn't be equipped before finding this thread. Fingers crossed for a bug fix.

Female imperial Vampire. Also have this glitch with Ebony and Blades shields at least. Maybe, some other too. Glass Shield is ok.
Had no idea that it may be related to vampirism... Because I currently play archer/dualwielding style char, I generally do not pay much attention to shields. But it might affect me more in future, on the second playthrough. Hope this will be fixed one way or another.

This problem is still around in the latest patch. I wouldn't have noticed it except I gave one to a follower who is a Nord Vampire that uses them. I don't like shields myself. Thought it might have been a retex problem but that is not the case.

My character is a vampire and also cannot really equip Ebony Shields. It looks equipped in the list but seems invisible and doesn't really do anything. *sigh*
