Editing a Topic Title

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:43 pm

I've never been to this particular board, but I wasn't sure where else to go for technical issues - I haven't had serious ones up until the changes to the site. Which, while nice, has caused me a couple of problems more than once, now - as a result of my own, horrible carelessness and glitches/issues with the system.

However, I never actually posted a thread, myself, since then until just today. I assumed I would be able to edit the title of the topic, as this has been the case every time I've needed it to be throughout my entire history on forums, so I stated that posting was not yet allowed ("The Protector's Complex - RP (Beta) [No Posting, Yet]") in the title. When I went to edit the first post, and then tried the second one after, it wouldn't allow me to edit the title. Everything but.

Is there a way to edit it? It's an issue, if I can't, due to the fact that some will assume they still can't post, or will avoid it anyways, even after reading the latest post within the thread, because of conflicting messages that I have given.

I've always used the report feature and gone "whoops, I made a boo-boo "

The reason being a report is seen by all mods, so it's more likely to be fixed faster.

But doesn't it say something like "This form is to be used ONLY for reporting objectionable content and is not to be used as a method of communicating with moderators for other reasons."?

Unless typos count as objectionable content.

Just ignore that. We had that text removed before, but I guess the recent forum software update brought it back. It's perfectly fine to use the report feature for requests like this.

I consider... a request for changing a topic title ...to be objectionable content since it can be misleading. Once a while I've notice locked thread and the last post "closed for misleading topic title" or similar.

Posting false links as in deliberately misleading other members about what they are clicking on or linking to is forbidden. Examples of such is posting a screamer and telling them, "Isn't this cool.", links to a game such as "you have been bitten" or other such game that gains the posters points or recognition, posting such links will result in a warning. Deliberately posting or linking to malicious or misleading information will result in your account being suspended. Please note that this include such links in signatures as well as the text of a post.
