A bit of back story is necessary for my tale and to explain how it got to this point and my current dilemma. I'm basically your average western (American) 22 year old university student in my senior year at the American University in Cairo finishing up a double major in Egyptology and English Lit ( it's a Bachelor of Arts so don't go thinking that I'm a genius and getting a Master's Degree or something) and so when my brother called me to tell me that he was coming to visit me in Egypt I jumped at the opportunity and asked him to get me a copy of New Vegas.

After all I wasn't in the mood to wait a year for it to come out in Egypt ( games are much slower to arrive in the middle east) and i dislike purchasing things online and waiting for them to arrive especially given the fact that shipping would almost match the price of the game so when he arrived with the game i was ecstatic with joy after all i had loved fallout 3 and had logged in hundreds of hours playing it and it's DLCs with mods. But to my complete and utter dismay I found that I could not play for longer than 5 minutes before my game crashed and it kept on crashing every single time sometimes i could play for almost 15 minutes and other times 5 or less.

It's a common bug, hopefully a patch will be out this week, according to the stickied "Game updates" thread.

It's worth pointing out that your video processor is not particularly adept and may be under spec despite being from a newer generation of chips. I can't say for sure if that is the cause of your crashes, but mobile systems are rarely if ever on the same level of stability and performance as desktop computers. Do what you can to make absolutely sure all your video/sound drivers and BIOS are up to date, for starters. If you have similar issues in Oblivion and/or Fallout 3, that might also indicate some sort of hardware or software incompatibility.

Try to play in the windowed mode, with AA turned off.

Neither Oblivion , Fallout 3, or Morrowind has ever crashed to desktop on me and i use a ton of mods with them. For Morrowind i used over a hundred mods, For Oblivion i used FCOM with about 40 other mods and with Fallout 3 it was FWE+EVE+MMM+WMK+Fellout+Street Lights and about a hundred other mods. Fallout New vegas is the only game that's ever crashed to desktop on me

ok since it occurs outside most of the time, I would guess it has something to do with RAM, you have enough but it may be incompatible with FO:NV, if it was the graphics card the crashing wouldn't affect weather it is outside. I am guessing that there will a patch for this
