Bethesda it's time to fix this. I now have 3 elder scrolls in my inventory equaling 60 carry weight....seriously? Broken!

one of the scrolls (dragon scroll) can be sold at the College of Winterhold talk to Urag
the other two give them to the Moth Priest at the end of Dawnguard

if you can't drop them, they're weightless.
Or just sell it to Urag at the college of winterhold.

Thanks guys! I still think Bethesda coulda handled this whole thing better, a lot of people would just cruise around with an elder scroll taking up space in their inventory thinking there is no way to get rid of it. They could have made it more clear where you could dispose of the scroll.

I am keeping them, as a novelty. Also know how the dwemer are cliff hangers and no matter what you do if you pickpocket the lexicon from septimus you can't get rid of it. Is it a hint to a future Dwemer DLC in which you need a lexicon who knows.

actually if you take the lexicon you can't drop it and it's purpose has been fulfilled so in other words it's a bug

That's very naive of you to say, not all gamers are hardcoe and have their laptop out while they are gaming. It's a silly glitch that should have been fixed a long time ago. Period

no it's not a glitch lol it's actually scripted for them to be given to someone which is Urag in the College of Winterhold and that Moth priest at the end of Dawnguard....you can't really keep them or even store them so what's the point of having them?

but if you're stuck trying to figure out how to get rid of them, why not try and see if there is a way to do it first instead of whine about something they gave you a way to do on a forum? i only ever use the wiki when im stuck on something and thats rare now. its obvious you have internet access, it would have been easier to just go to wiki and find the info there than make a new thread on it.

I'm not whining. I am pointing out Bethesda's mistake and voicing my opinion about how this quest was handled. I have 3 separate friends who have all played countless hours of this game and still have the scroll in their inventory. That's a fail on Bethesda's part. They should learn that most players never go on the skyrim wiki and need more guidance within the game, especially when your talking about something as serious as an item you can't drop and takes up space in a players inventory.

This^ also i never used the wiki to figure out that the college book keeper would take my elder scroll. i thought "hey, he's a scholar, might as well try it" and it worked. to me it would also seem logical "hey he's a moth priest, they read elder scrolls for a living. lets try giving it to him" but hey. bethesda's fault for putting logical places to 'dump' priceless scrolls from the history/prophecies of tamrieal right?

I don't know why one would get rid of Elder Scrolls. They're one of the most powerful items in all of Tamriel. A good souvenir. Even better, they're weightless.

What if you're RPing a character who can't read?

If they're quest related, it's weightless, it just says that it weighs some.

This. And they are elder scrolls. Why would you ever get rid of them?

as a number of people have said already, there weightless. and its hardly a mistake, what did you expect them to do? just let you drop it on the floor?

The wiki is........rather bad*

Better to use UESP for gameplay.

*That's putting it kindly.

the eal problem here is all items should have been dropable, if someone is dumb enough to drop a named item or something that was strangely hard to get they do not deserve to finish the quest (but if it is something vauge they should have some clue to it being important)
