How do we enable AO for Radeon cards?

Forced AO is something Nvidia cards have been able to do for awhile. I am not aware of a way to force AO with ATI/AMD cards.

Perhaps I'm blind, but.... in that article, there's example pics for with & without AO. What difference am I supposed to be seeing between them? It isn't obvious. (a bit more contrast in the shadows, maybe? :huh: )

Look along the joins between walls/floor, and in areas where objects touch the floor, etc. AO is basically the way that shadows bounce and "collect" between/beneath objects, seams, etc.
