ENB mod fix for optimus users!

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 9:19 am

Boris has released a enb version which works on optimus laptops! As the enb mods are now being made as a injector no d3d9 file is required! http://enbdev.com/index_en.html

But i tried the 0.105 version of enb and it looks too bright and fake looking, worse than without enb! so are there any settings i need to change to get it looking bettter? I have seen some awesome looking enb games so any help would be appreciated!

There are countless ENB profiles on SkyrimNexus, though I can't vouch for them working with the new version.

Ive sifted through quite a few but havent found any that i think are better than vannila skyrim. Perhaps its just my tastes. Trouble is i dont know anything about the settings in order to make one custom to me.

Could you list exactly what you don't like about vanilla? That would help us help you. :)

i like vannila, i just dont think its crisp enough and like the effects enb offers but not really bright/ overly colourful effects that is apparant in most enb settings ive tried. I'll have a look at boris's site directly to see if theres any configs i like on there.

I've settled on http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3532 as the best I've found so far. It was good enough that I didn't feel the need to keep looking for a better one. It's not for either of the latest experimental versions of ENB, though.

Hmm it relies a lot on the fxaa injector which i cant run due it relying on d3d9 files. I'll give the enb settings a go though.

Not much point in enhanced shaders as i cant use d3d9 files which it seems it needs :/

I can only use the new style enb mods (injectors) with no d3d9 files. Which for now i think ive settled on this one http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=389 except im using version 105 (about 5fps better performance with same looks as 103 and only lose about 5fps from vannila) That still uses the fxaa injector but still relies on d3d9 files so i can only use the enb part of it.

Still cant decide wether i prefer the duller vanilla or brighter enb version. The enb version does seem to have more depth over vanilla in colours and maybe more crisp. Idk perhaps i'll do some more tweaking in the enbseries file.

If anyone knows about enb can i increase sharpening through enb? without the fxaa process injector?

In your skyrim Prefs make sure bfloatpointrender is set to 1, otherwise I am extremely partial to confident enb V. 1.3 I absolutely adore it. Though not quite realistic it brings out the colors that bethesda tried to hide in their game and can make for some truely breathtaking views.
(And no I'm pretty sure you can't so sharpening via ENB)

well it's necessary for ENB to run properly and from the sound of it probably has somthing to do with allowing a rendered sample to return info to shaders or somthing along those lines. Really I'm not sure XD, I have only a modest knowledge of programming etc, but I do know ENB looks like someone spilled whiteout on you monitor without that setting haha! Glad it helped you out.
