So my enchanted weapons stop glowing and lost its effect.

This may be a really dumb question, but during the Wolfqueen quest I was using my Eduj and Okin on a couple of Draugr and Vampires and after I killed them they stopped glowing. Also they lost their frost effect. Bug or me being a noob?

Being a noob

Enchanted weapons use charges; the white bar that displays on the weapon and in the bottom corner of the screen. When they're depleted you need to charge them back up by applying another soul gem. Think of it as a magical ammo clip. To recharge, go into the inventory, select the weapon and you'll see at the bottom of the screen what button to press (dunno what it is on PS3, on PC it's T)

Sorry but i think its you being a noob :) Have you played an elder scrolls game before? Have you came across any soul gems? They are used for enchanting new weapons and maintaining the enchantments on already enchanted weapons.

Go into your misc inventory. Check if you have any filled soul gems. Filled ones will say the type of gem and what type of soul it contains, if any, in brackets next to it example: Petty Soul Gem (petty).Go into your weapons inventory. Highlight the enchanted weapon thats stopped working. If you have filled soul gems in your misc inventory you will see an instruction on the bottom left of the screen, next to favourites that says R2: Charge or something similar. Press R2 and if you have a few different sizes of soul gems (petty is the smallest, grand is the highest and holds the most charge) a list will appear asking you to select one to use. Highlight it and press x to use.

Check out the Skyrim wiki for more info on soul gems as there is a lot more to them than what i've written here.

Everyone needs help sometimes!

EDIT: beat to the punch!

No problem :) As i said, everyone needs help sometimes and what you do with Soul Gems and what to do when you find an Enchanted weapon once it loses its Enchantment is'nt immediately apparent.
I hope you don't think i was being an ass when i wrote "Is this your first Elder Scrolls game?" I just read it back and it does'nt look very nice! Thats what i get for trying to ask/say too many things at once! :)

I know what you mean about Skyrim being addictive. Although i've been playing these games since the second one, Daggerfall, i've NEVER been this addicted to any game.

You should check out the wiki's on the Elder Scrolls and on Skyrim in particular. Its easy to find out about all the game mechanics without spoiling the quests.

I've got the official Bethesda guide for this game. It covers every aspect of this game extensively and would be excellent for learning how these/this games work.
The guide is'nt perfect though. Some of it's info is wrong, for istance some of the potion recipe ingredients are wrong, etc.
I got it as it was included as part of the promotion for the PS3 Collectors Edition but it would be of great use to someone like yourself who's playing an Elder Scrolls game for the first time as it would give you a clear understanding of the mechanics of the game, also, its not very expensive.
I live in Scotland and my local branch of GAME is selling the guide for around £10/12.

If you need anymore help/info just let me know, i'll be glad to help :)
